Looks like tomorrow night, after midnight *yawn* will be the best time to see this meteor shower this year. The best showing since 2007 Wish we lived somewhere a little darker. Might have a lie down in the garden to see what I can see.

Ooh - its quite dark here, but not the South West, although we used to live there. To clarify - the "12th after midnight" is that tonight or is that technically the 13th?

Its tonight after midnight - so yes, basically early tomorrow morning. Just seen on another site and it said if you look north east from about 10pm you should be able to see it. Its also tomorrow night as well

I'm lucky in that it's really really dark here, I just hope it isn't cloudy tomorrow. I waited outside for ages last year and only saw one meteor

Not seen anything yet but then realised its the 11th - can still look

I think I just saw it!

 

I was sure I could see things moving, like tiny lines across the sky, then thought it was just imagining it, but watched it for 10 mins

 

I could only see patches/groups of it, but it is really cloudy. Will have another look tomorrow - thanks

It is tonight! - we had a look last night on our way to bed but my eyes always make out shooting stars

 

They are saying on BBC Breakfast that it is tonight - but it's going to be cloudier than last night.

The weather here (just 20 mins from Lesley) is vile.. dark and pouring, so I'm not sure if I will see any.

 

A few weeks back we had our company 20th anniversary bash at a s"Ooops, word censored!"y hotel in the country, it was a warm night, so we were outside and I pointed out the space station to a few people; there were a lot of smaller satellites and shooting stars around that night too.

 

I'm usually tucked up in bed, but will have a look when I take the doglet out for her last comfort stop before I turn in.

I.m on the Atlantic and we have been told that the deck lights will be switched off between 2 and 4 am to let us see it.

We had an amazing show a couple of years ago here in London and we saw several meteors, just hoping the clouds clear.

So, even if you're not in the countryside you should see some, it's never properly dark here!

I can't remember the year, but a few years ago we took the children up to the hills not far from us to see a meteor shower, we parked in a layby with quite a few other cars and we all lay on the bonnet and looked up at the sky, we saw quite a few shooting stars and the children thought that it was magical.....it was only later that we heard a local news report about the area and apparently it is a very popular area for people to meet for slightly less pleasant purposes.

My son saw one last night, whilst out at an all night party. Ah, to be young again and not need so much sleep...

Well, we saw about 10 between us between 9.30 and 11.30pm I keep getting a bit excited everytime I saw one My poor neck was a bit sore this morning with all that looking up, despite wearing coat and scarf. Its a bit cloudy here tonight, so we shall see if we can spot some tonight. May have to persuade hubby to drive out to Stonehenge where its darker I was amazed at how many satellite's were whizzing overhead though.
