Charlottechicken
Just bumping this thread up again as we have had non stop rain today 23mm in my rain gauge and temperature at 8 degrees, heating went on at lunchtime and open fire lit with a small fire. I've spent 20 minutes outside with the chickens this evening, and the temperature has risen to 10 degrees now. Going to dig out the hot water bottle now
percy049
Drizzling all afternoon, on sunday, my day for cleaning out the hens! I managed to get the house put back together before the rain started, but there wont be any aubiose in the droppings tray tonight!

The Dogmother
Yes, i know we need the rain but we've had it non-stop all last night and today, with blustery high winds too. Temps in single figures last night and cool again today with a top of 11deg. I had 4 layers on when out today and still felt cold. Walked the dogs in pouring rain after a late lunch and then lit the stove to warm the house up while I did DIY You can really tell it's June... Wimbledon, Pimms and rain! Charlottechicken
Forgot to mention that it's also blowing a gale here, I can hear the wind howling outside and earlier had to lash my young, 10 foot high, plum tree to the fence to stop it blowing over, it was at an angle of 45 degrees. Got the sash window man coming tomorrow, and I'm off work for the next week, so was hoping for a bit of nice weather but it appears to be rainy and cold for at least the next week Gardener's world live too
ali-s
We were forecast a day of rain yesterday. Woke up to sunshine and blue skies. Spent the day in the garden in T shirts and cropped trousers. Caught the sun a bit on my arms working in the veg garden. Rain arrived late afternoon and lasted an hour and we enjoyed a sunny evening. Woke up to rain this morning and it feels chilly outside. westie mum
We had rain all day yesterday. I ended up getting soaked as I have a new WIR but hadn't put any tarps on it yet so I spent a good half hour doing that . It was cold though and I had to have gloves on. Bit brighter this morning so hopefully no more rain today
Egluntyne
Absolutely vile here yesterday. WIR roof has sprung another leak. Had to light the fire in the evening. It was soooo cold. Flaming June. *tuts*
beach chick
horrible here yesterday - went to bed with a hot water bottle!! and not nice again today. have lost half a rosebush from the front of the house, just ripped away by the wind. got to wait for it to stop raining so I can go out and tidy it up as it is directly on the way to the chickens... The Dogmother
Much milder (14deg) and dry (so far) this morning but still very windy. I must say that everything looks greener, although I doubt that it has done much to replenish the water levels. Mind you, my water butts are full again. Claire, I'm going to Gardener's World Live on Sunday - are you going too?
chickencam
It rained solidly all day here too, we had about 26mm and another few the day before. It was blowing a gale too, we lit the fire at about 11am and it went mad with the wind whipping at the chimney. It didn't feel like June at all, having said that just what the garden needed. It is sunny and blustery here this morning, I am hoping to get the washing dry and then watch the tennis which was rained off yesterday. The rain at the Canadian Grand Prix was quite something too Best race in years

Really warm here yesterday; 21deg at 6pm when I headed out for a walk, and almost humid. 14deg this morning, muggy, cloudy and blowy - we're forecast rain. The Dogmother
We had that here; I was soaked walking around the reservoir, then it cleared up. About 7.30pm it all went black and we had a torrential downpour.
Charlottechicken
Very overcast and muggy here all day but no rain. When I got back from GW Live we had had a shower here as the garden was wet, but nothing heavy.

Old Speckled Hen
I think we've had three or four clear sunny days since the end of April. It's rained practically every day. Yesterday's forecast said it would be sunny all day today......great, I need to do some work in the apiary As I look outside the rain is falling in a deluge The monthly forecast sees no end to the rain as far as mid July.....I hope they're wrong there too. It's so depressing.
The Dogmother
We had some really heavy rain and dark skies last night. This morning is bright-ish but promises rain I shouldn't moan as we really need it.

Pouring again and dark already, I have been soaked to the skin a few times today I want good weather tomorrow - a friend is able to get cheap tickets to things and is very kindly treating me to Gardener's World Live tomorrow... we have plans to kidnap Month Don and bring him back on the train
