The Dogmother
Phil is kindly selling a few things on Ebay for me - I never tire of the daft questions that we get asked. One was for an armchair that i was selling; I listed the measurements, said that it ought to be collected due to size and gave the location. Winning bidder lived in Kent and asked me to courier it to him Phil ended up re-listing it as the winner realised that he hadn't read the listing properly. Latest one is regarding a large Delsey suitcase that I am selling.... Hi, Philip. I am in need of that exact suitcase for a folding bike. It's too bad you couldn't ship it to me in the US, but obviously that's financially imprudent. Would you please tell me the model number or name so I might better search for one here in the States? I appreciate it. Thanks Still, it keeps me amused
Olly
I'm still pondering on why one might want a suitcase for a folding bike! I do wish people would read the details before they bid on things.

The Dogmother
The case isn't exactly light weight either - it's one of the globetrotter reinforced polypropylene ones.
Alis girls
there are some very odd people about. Why put a folding bike in a case. Sounds iffy to me
scarlettohara
Me too - more like a folding body
Alis girls
I was going to say that - visions of Clarets name in the papers as the provider of the suitcase for a corpse. Been watching too many Midosmer Murders must get out more.
The Dogmother
They are definitely odd - Phil got back to them saying that he'd check the details of the case and they replied 'Stellar'

WarrensWorld
makes sense to me Me too, sounds like they want to put the bike into the suitcase. I bought Eileen a 'Bickerton' she used it once, its back in its bag hanging in the barn. She says put it on eBay in the new year. Perhaps the punters will put a bid in, That'll be awsome..... chris_21
wouldn't be so bad if he arranged his own courier for the are chair but asking you to arrange a courier is a bit to far. i sold one of my old tractor engines the other day on ebay now you can imagine how big they are and a bloke in italy won it i thought nothing of it until he messaged me to tell me he as got a courier comeing and would i put it on a pallet i said to him do you realise how heavy it is. anyway there are some stuiped people on ebay. the one that makes me laugh still is when i sold something on ebay a couple of months ago everything went fine until they e-mailed me and said to that i charged them £10.00 postage and the postage cost was only £9.95 could you give me my 5p back. that still makes me laugh. sparkysmum
I've just had a rubbishy ebay experience. Bought a pair of used muck boots for walking the dogs, cleaning out hens etc. Auction details said worn five times & 2mths old. Brilliant I thought & waited eagerly for my boots to arrive. Well they did arrive after a long delay and they're so old the heels are worn down & mud is ingrained in the fabric. Caveat emptor indeed Alli x

Cinnamon
It is all done totally impersonaly,so you don't have to deal with the seller directly yourself. You do need to start the process within 30 days of the sale I think, though. There is never any need to put up with a rubbish experienceon eBay. There is a lot you can do if you are not happy.
