vacuuming robots

Recommended Posts

It avoids stairs - I hate vacuuming them too but I would have thought buying a machine to do the jobs you hate should solve that.

And I bet it doesnt move the furniture.

Basically its been designed by a man to do man style vacuuming

I did ask if it could fly up the stairs like a dalek, but it can't  and what if you drop something that needs vacuuming up?

I said it seems like a bit of a gimmick, and it would just play dodgems with the furniture, but OH thinks it is a useful gimmick as our existing vac is held together with tape

What a great idea

At work I look after the junior schools dining room which is carpeted  Three times a day 115 8 to 13 year olds come and litter the carpet with food, grass cuttings (from outside) and in the winter the grit put down to melt the ice. I have to vaccum the carpet twice a day which takes 35 minutes a go. Twice a week the carpet is shampooed which takes another 45 minutes.

My boss will be getting the web site address tomorrow  I would be able to put the chairs on top of the tables and let the robot do its stuff :D

OMG!!! How much hoovering? I have to hoover once a day or my house looks like the bottom of a litter tray (3 kdis! say no more)

I hope he pays you lots and LOTS of money, because (apart frmo ironing) that would be my idea of hell!!

DEFINITELY give your boss the website, then sit back, feet up, cup of tea and a biccy!

I liked that thought too Karen, my cats drag in so much dirt when I am not there it would be nice to leave it to police them and clear up so I don't come home to an explosion in a feather factory if one of them catches a bird

My brother has one and LOVES it!

Think they're great for city pads but not sure if they could cope with the strains of dog and cat hair! You can also get one that washes floors, so hopefully a robot that can do all the housework should be along soon!

They look really small though. Where do they put all the hoovered up stuff? And if the hoovered up stuff can be so compact, why do we use enormous machines? :?

There are 4 of us here with long thick hair. It is a real problem, but I find Crocs are brilliant at s"Ooops, word censored!"ing the hair off the carpet. Much better than anything else!

Hi

I have a Roomba had it about 2 years and its great, but would not be without my Miele as well. Roombas are great for a quick sweep and do a good job, but can't do stairs!! I have 3 boys and it copes well. I also have a Scooba the mopping version, but I can only use it on my Amtico floor as it gets the laminate too wet!

Just one word of warning if you import one from the States you will have duty to pay and the voltage is wrong on the charger. Much safer to buy in the UK with a CE mark!! How do I know, erm well my hubby sells them, and Robotic lawnmowers oops!!
