The King's Speech.

I really enjoyed it too :P

It was nice & gentle, very well cast & ultimately amazingly uplifting - I left the movie feeling like a million dollars 8)

Some superb acting by the leads,& I also loved Guy Pearce as The Prince of Wales/King Edward, & thought Timothy Spall made a fab Churchill. Jennifer Ehle was also wonderful & barely recognisable as Logues wife.

I also thought Helena was great....you could see the Queen Mum in her!

I thought London looked wonderful, especially the smoggy scenes - there is some very good cinematography in this film.

The use of the very special silver English light is very good indeed.

The costumes were also a joy.

Highly recommended.

I saw this the day it was released. Good to see Colin Firth out of his doldrums doing something exceptional; he has had a hard time of it recently and the Golden Globe best actor award is well deserved; Oscars loom :D

Coincidentally the Telegraph ran a two page article on Lionel Logue a few days later which differed somewhat from the film and made an interesting read.

I can't get the image of Geoffrey Rush in his pirate costume out of my head though :lol:

So may interesting films out soon I could go to the cinema twice a week for quite a while.

The older ones amongst us may realise that it is Holly Golightly 's is 50th anniversary this year and the film is back on "big screen".

What a treat :D:D
