The Dogmother
Now available in 10kg bags - £13 including delivery directly from Marriages. Much better for those with just a few hens, especially as the use by date is just a shade less than 3 months. *Don't forget that as a licensed product, it is illegal to divide up and share bags. Cinnamon
Never heard of these before. I take it they are pellets with Flubenvet in? Are they are effective as self dosing? - hope so,cos it sounds a whole lot easier
Cinnamon
Errrrrrrrr.....I can't see it on the site & it won't let me order without registering, which you don't seem to be able to do Very confusing!
Chucky Mama
Wish the shelf live was longer. I only get through about 2kg per worming session. It's still a tub of Flub for me as it lasts me yonks. Good idea though
Cinnamon
Phoned them in the end........have a bag on the way now As I have 10 big hens & 4 little bants,I reckon this bag should be about just right. Any leftover I will store safely to redose them in 3 months time (or just before it expires)
The Dogmother
Yes Sarah, it's milled in with the pellets, so no mixing and no Flubenvet left in the bottom of the feeder. It only used to be available in 20kg bags, so it's great news re the smaller size. Enough for one worming of my lot with probably a wee bit left over. I agree, their site is pants so I got them to call me and ordered them over the phone.

Roobaloo
Fab stuff!! I was about to buy some flubenvet...and was dreading mixing it...last time was a disaster and I'm sure none of them got a suitable dose!!
WitchHazel
Just bought some, although I got a 20kg bag in the end (£18.50). I initially wanted it for the Allotment boy and girls, and 10kg would have been about right for them. I decided I'd get a 20kg bag and try it on the garden girls as well and see how we get on. (I find the grape/tomato doosing method works well with my garden girls, but thought I'd give the marriages a go). Shame you can't register online and have to speak to someone, but the lady I spoke to was lovely, Hazel
abwsco
These are soooooooooo easy to use and mine wolfed them all down when I used them. Think I posted that it was the only way I was going to worm them now

karlotta
I've just bought some of these so tomorrow will be worming day one. I hate the faff of measuring out the powder and with large quantities (like my mob get through) is rather hit and miss. I'm sure my lot will wolf it down and if it all goes to plan I won't be going back!!

Lewis
I'll always mix my own 'cos no its not hard, but think its a idea and handy if people aren't sure what they're doing
poachedegg
Mixing the powder with pellets is so cost effective and not exactly rocket science... Not rocket science I agree, however I still find it more convenient and the change of food doesn't bother our chooks.
abwsco
I can't be bothered with the faff of weighing and measuring and mixing and coating with oil so it sticks. Opening a bag is not quite as difficult and I know that they've all got what they should have.
goodinparts
Y I used it when I last wormed my girls (shared with a friend...tra la la) but my local Countrywide doesn't stock it so I found myself anxious weighing things out & hoping for the best. Would certainly have preferred the pellets option - why hadn't it occurred to me to look on line? We are on day 4 - & now Broody Brigid is broody AGAIN and is going to be allowed to get away with it for a few days as I can't face the double complications of worming, no FR AND the naughty cage. Maybe I just ought to let her sit on some eggs...But then I couldn't get my bantams at Reading...ho hum....The complications that ensue when Morehens strikes! Valkyrie
I have never had a problem with mixing the powder with pellets - sure some does go to the bottom but it isn't wasted because it is used in their pellet porridge in the morning. I also can see the difference between the powdered pellets and the untreated pellets, so it does stick without having to put clo on them. Same with the evening corn - there is a visible coating. And I don't think my lot would get through a bag that big so it would just be a big waste of money and I couldn't justify buying it.
Old Speckled Hen
I asked on here ages ago about Marriages Flubenvet pellets and was told they were expensive and it was easy and cheap to dose your own pellets which is what I did and it was but I can see the advantages of a ready-to-use. In my wisdom (NOT) I spoil my lot with Garvo Alpha so they won't eat pellets Edited January 26, 2011 by Guest
