Hello

Bantams are wonderful! We have three Light Sussex (havn't posted pics as a) don't know how (Luddite) and b) they are exactly the same as 'big' Light Sussex!!

Our girls are in an Eglu and have a wonderful time FR-ing in our quite small garden. The eggs average 43g (when they are not broody which two now are!!!)

We decided on LS as they have a reputation for being freindly (which they are) and less destructive in the garden than other breeds (in that case, heaven help us as the garden is now resembling The Somme! So possibly defective info there!) :wall:

We have two small boys (6 and 3) and wanted birds that would be 'more their size' and both boys are happy and confident with the 'girlies' and can pick them up correctly whereas they would probably struggle with bigger birds.

Anyway, thats our take on Bantams.... good luck and keep us posted!

They all look great. Are they harder to catch? Do they lay eggs? Sorry re questions but we are thinking of having some. Only problem is can we put them in with our two lf orps or do i have to wait  .

Josie used to try and outrun me but now she just stays still but defiantly turns her back to me as I get closer to pick her up - serious attitude for a little bird.

No eggs so far - but like I said she has that 'too posh to push' attitude

:P
