Lesley
Ours is finished - very tempted to put 'travel to work by train' after just having ticked the 'work from home' box I left mine blank but OH ticked 'on foot'
sari
I love the idea of the Census, for future genertions' use, but am unhappy that the census contract went to that well known arms dealer Lockheed Martin UK.......if it had been US the US government would have had access to it under the Patriot Act...I'm still not convinced they won't. We are a rather diverse household, with 1 Pagan, 1 agnostic, and 2 buddhists....amd the ethnicity bit is always amusing...
Old Speckled Hen
The religion question is not compulsory. I left mine blank
Cinnamon
Never did get back to my census online,so I am going to have to assume they have it. It's not like I didn't try! A visit from the census people to see why I have broken the law and not filled it in would be quite interesting anyhow
The Dogmother
The religion question is not compulsory.I left mine blank me too. I did mine online the other week, took 5 minutes and got it out of the way.
Old Speckled Hen
Online is quick and easy. I did mine, mum's and daughter's quick as a flash. I knew my DD would forget and my poor mum didn't understand it. Anyway, haven't govt promised this is the last one as they can get all the info they need from all the other stuff they have on us? chickencam
We did ours yesterday evening and got ED to fill in her section herself. I was person oe and how many times did I have to repeat various names, I do think that could have been designed more efficiently I left the religion question blank too. We asked each of our children for their answer to the religion question and whether they considered themselves to be English, Bristish of both. I was the only member of my family to go for Bristish, maybe because I moved around a lot as a child finally ending up for 10 years in Wales before leaving home. OH grew up in the same area and our children have grown up in the same house.
Valkyrie
I was going to write something silly in the religion box but OH persuaded me not to. I see his point of not wanting to fund religions when we are not religious ourselves. So we have 4 non believers of anything and one Mormon! We also made mistakes on the form and thought "whateverrrrrrrrrrrrrr". I liked question 17 best of all. "This question has been left blank on purpose" or words to that effect! Harrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!
Ain't Nobody Here
I heard today that a couple in Glasgow were targeting elderly folk, telling them that the Census had a supplementary part missing and they had to give their bank details . Possibly an urban myth but if not, how despicable . Actually, a quick Google proves it isn't a myth . Census scam

Charlottechicken
Question 17 explained ***here*** did mine online yesteday, it was very quick and easy, I was quite impressed!
Goosey Lucy
Seems ours were much more straightforward, no religion question but we did have a read/write/speak Manx question. Also ours have to be collected in person and not sent back, no idea when they're coming to collect it, hope we're in!
sadietoo
Did mine online today...quick and painless...refused to put Jedi down as OH religion.....although that would have agreed with the last census
Chook n Boo Mum
I was irritated by the qualifications section..........the same as last time wasn't an option though
Lavenders_Blue
I did mine on the paper form. All nice and easy and straightforward. I like the idea that in 100 years or so, people might look up this information to find out more about our generation, what we did, where we lived, who was in the family, just like we do now with our ancestors. In a way I find it a bit sad that people put all sorts of weird things like Jedi on their census forms. If I looked back and found my ancestors had put something like that, be honest I'd be pretty disappointed because I'd wonder how much else on the form wasn't true and I'd wonder what they actually should have put.... but.... at the same time, part of me hopes someone has put 'Omleteer' as their religion
Seagazer
I haven't filled ours in yet as I have an awful head cold and would probably fill it all in wrong. I was going to do it for the rest of the family and not fill in the religious bit as they all had requested. I might get them to do it themselves and they can put down what they want. I will just have the little chat about our descendants trying to figure out what the Jedi religion is when they come to look at the census My DD doesn't want christian put down but that she believes in 'belief' whatever that is supposed to mean. I give up. Edited to add: good job I haven't filled it in - just made bread in breadmaker and forgot to put water in I have baked flour I would have probably forgotten to add a couple of the children in the census! mostin
Only just seen this thread. I filled it in on-line as you only had to fill the names in once and then it was all done for me for the rest of the form. I am happy to report that I did indeed put Omleteer as my religion . I feel the joy and healing power of chickens is much to be believed in, and they have introduced me to some of the loveliest and kindest people I have ever met. So chooks are my chosen faith . Lewis
I put "Chicken Omleteer" as my religion Didn't know if the census people would know what Omleteer meant Question was can you understand, speak, read or write Welsh? ... I can speak and read it Didn't tick the "Understand spoken" ... but didn't mention understanding in the other tick boxes
Valkyrie
Well I'd like to complain about question 17 then. I am fluent in Double Dutch and Gobbledegook and I want to add one of those as my native language. Or Wessex Roolz OK! OOOH ARRRRRRRRR!
