Kates frock

Recommended Posts

I know some aren't interested, but for those who are, what are your thoughts on the most highly anticipated part of tomorrows wedding.....Kates dress?

I am leaning toward Bruce Oldfield for the designer.

I think it will be ivory rather than white, with a modest train.

I am picturing something almost medieval in style, similar to Fionas dress in Shrek.

Simple, elegant but with a bit of an edge

I would love to see the bridesmaids in a colour too, maybe a soft leafy green.

I have heard that there will be a nod to Diana in the dress,I just hope it hasn't got sleeves like cream puffs like hers did

Maybe Kate will wear the tiara Di did?

Looking forward to that first glance, and the subsequent knock offs an hour or two later in the shops!

I can't wait to see the dress

Not sure of the designer may be it'll be a newbie

Definitely ivory not white

I think it'll have a long train aka Dianna

It won't have a huge skirt - something straight with some embellishment but not OTT

Let’s hope it won't crease like Diana’s did

May be flowers in her hair to start with and then change into a tiara when they sign the register like Sarah did

I wonder if she'll wear a necklace - Diana didn't, Sarah and Sophie did

I hope the commentators won't go on and on about the celebs and what they are wearing

Not sure how much they'd let Kate deviate from tradition (Diana wanted to be traditionally late and she was only allowed to be 30 secs late) but as all royal weddings in a church, certain rules of decorum must be observed. Royal brides wear dresses that cover their shoulders and at least their upper arms. When Prince William’s cousin Peter Phillips was married, his bride wore a lace shrug over her strapless dress. I like the tradition of a sprig of myrtle (The herb of love) in the bouquet taken from the same plant that Victoria took hers from, I hope Kate keeps that.

(Random fact I found out today: Apparently she's allergic to horses! Oh dear, they couldn't place more horses together in one place if they tried!)

A friend of mine told me that too, I wonder if it is true or not.

No thoughts to offer on the dress I am afraid, the young children at school think it will have a long long long train :D

I'm hoping for something elegant and not too over the top. I also don't think that they're 'allowed' to wear strapless. I actually prefer sleeves in wedding dresses. I think her hair is gorgeous down but wonder if it would work properly if she has a veil - Diana's looked a bit flat after a while.

I still think its a shame that what we all remember from Diana's wedding is the fact that the dress was so creased up - you can almost forgive the meringue as that was just the style of the day (well I can as I had a bit of a meringue  ).

I love the thought of Kate having flowers in her hair. :D

I also like seeing what everyone else is wearing.

I thought it was perfect.

Just the right mix of drama & simpleness - & the train wasn't too long either

The bridesmaids all looked lovely too, & I really liked Kates flowers & the flowers the bridesmaids held.

The Queen looked sweet in her primrose yellow & Camilla & Anne both looked great.

But sadly I thought Beatrice & Eugenie looked awful :?
