Strictly time again! 2011

Recommended Posts

I wondered whether the judges were going to come to blows on Saturday! And James and Len for that matter!

Whilst I agree that the judges shouldn't penalise the choreography, they should judge the celebrities on how they perform the choreography they have been given, at the same time the professionals know that faffing around with props does tend to annoy the judges, so why do they continue to do it? They only have a 90 seconds for their dance so even I can see that it's silly to waste 30 seconds twirling an umbrella or sitting on a chair or whatever they might be doing.

I liked Harry and Aliona's whisper and kiss though, thought that fitted in well with the dance!

I would love Harry to win but I worry that Aliona's choreography might let him down - don't think she is quite as good as some of the others. Also have a soft spot for Robbie.

Actually I lie - I would like my DD to marry Harry - I have told her this and she agrees it would be a good idea. Just have to come up with a plan

Yes it was definitely Nancys time! I was quite surprised at Alisha's comments thought - quite brutal for her, she had obviously had enough of poor Nancy

I didn't notice the wardrobe malfunction either, but I did notice that she lost the plot very suddenly. Poor girl was doing so well up until then.

Bless my OH he actually thought Nancy danced quite well  I'm happy she's gone as it means I don't have to listen to Anton wittering on. She's such a glamourous woman but really just not very good at dancing.

Loved Holly & Artem's dance, so beautiful. We were shouting at the tv though during Harry's tango - what is the matter with Aliona? Harry is a really good dancer but there was not enough 'in hold' tango for our liking but what he did do was really good. I think he's my favourite.

Didn't like Robbie's dance this week (can't even remember what it was), didn't think he danced it very well.

Felt sorry for Chelsee as she obviously thought her dress had come astray - there is definitely more flesh on show this year

For me, sadly, Russell is getting a bit samey. He looks like he's dancing the same dance each week. :?

I think I am turning into the female version of Len - I too was shouting at the tv when Aliona and Harry finished their dance "Not enough dance content!" Harry could win this competition standing on his head, but Aliona's choreography is really not going to help him.

Robbie's groin thrusting was very unpleasant - even Craig looked rather horrified :vom:

Kristina and Jason were fantastic - their routine was exactly what Strictly used to be about, dancing rather than gimmicks and props.

I still love SCD though - just wish there was a bit more dancing involved!

I think they need to go back to basics almost. Forget about all the props and just dance!

I agree. :)

Me too, there's definitely too much faffing around with props. They only get 90 seconds to impress as it is, so why waste time not dancing?! Jason was my favourite of the week too, and I also didn't spot Chelsee's wardrobe malfunction. The poor girl was so upset about it though, I think the costume designers need to take more care as there have been feather boas going astray and all sorts this series which must be incredibly off putting for the celebrities.

The costumes have been a little odd and much too revealing this year. I suspect that poor Chelsee had complained about the cut of the dress before she went out which is why she was so angry and upset when she thought that it had gone astray.

Strictly is not so family friendly this year, there have been quite a few crude moves and comments, I am glad that my children are all older now.

My favourites this week were Jason and Holly both lovely dances well constructed with no faffing about

I agree Liz, when I first saw her in that daft bikini outfit on he first programme, I said that she'd need some serious corsetry to keep her chest under control. That dress was rather low cut, wasn't it?

I found the dances on Saturday hard to 'get into', perhaps it was the use of props, but apart form Jason and Holly, none of them really stood out. Robbie seemed to have gone backwards in standard; I felt that his dance was poorer than the very first one he did. I see in today's news that there have been complaints about all the 'groinal activity' in his dance - I agree - it seemed over the top and unnecessary.

I can't put my finger on it. I loved the Halloween special last year but this one wasn't quite as good. I think there were just as many props last year but it just seemd to work a lot better - it was my favourite show of the whole series. This one was somehow underwhelming.

Still loving Harry but very afraid that Aliona will let him down

Just watched last night's and I agree Jason's Rhumba was a little 'off', he looked like he had all the hip movements in practise but then it just seemed a bit stiff on the night.

Thought Artem did really well to dance the jive with what looked like a bad injury to his leg.

As ever loved Harry :D

It was a shame to see Lulu go, she has improved quite a lot, but I love Audley's smile, so will be glad to see him again. Russell's performance this week was crazy but so entertaining, I was crying with laughter. 8)

I am so glad that Robbie went through, I thought that his dance was lovely this week after last week's nasty one and he seemed really upset and confused by the judges comments.

Anita's Charleston was lovely, it is my favourite dance, closely followed by the Quickstep :D I do hope that I have as much energy in my 60's
