Lewis Posted August 12, 2012 Share Posted August 12, 2012 I've been on a cruise with the family to Corfu, Turkey and Greece ...but not without its dramas We were flying out out at 2pm last Friday and I went out in Brum with my friends on Thursday night... fell off a podium (slightly drunk ) and ended up in A&E for 5 hours. Had X Rays etc and they said it was badly sprained ligaments in 3 places but not broken. Managed to get 2 hours sleep, was rolled through customs, had a wheelchair lift onto the plane and was stuck in a wheelchair for 5 days (not fun in 40oC and on Turkish hills ) and then on crutches, luckily am off both + walking now. Still got a bit of a fat right foot though! Went to see the Acropolis and Parthenon, also Olympia - birthplace of the Modern Olympics and were they light the torch with the sun's rays! Santorini ...and my favourite shop: We then got on the plane to come home from Corfu at 8pm Friday night, started taxiing down the runway ready to take off then we stop 'cos of a hydraulic leak. We got off the plane for "half an hour" which turned into more delays, which then ended up a total of 19 hour delay. They put us in a hotel for a couple of hours at 4am and we finally got home at 5ish Sat night after 23 hours in transit! Safe to say I didn't get into work on Saturday! One good thing to come out of it was we got our cabin upgraded to a bigger one with Disabled access 'cos of my wheelchair ...and the first cabin I couldn't hop over the big step out of the bathroom 'cos there was nothing to grab onto!
