craftyhunnypie
It was our village show on Saturday. My mum, hubby & myself attended & had a lovely afternoon. The sun shone & we parked ourselves outside the beer tent. But the thing I'm most chuffed at is I won a 1st for my handmade cushion, a 2nd for my crochet bag & a 2nd for my 4 fruit scones. I've got another 3 shows coming up - starting in just under 2 weeks time. Then there is one on each of the following 2 Saturdays. I am busy creating in the evenings again for these! craftyhunnypie
I'm busy doing some cross stitch - anyone know of where I can buy cheap kits online apart from the famous auction site? Aberystwyth is a bit poor for cross stitch kits. Great for knitting & Haberdashery - but not stitching. Emma.x

AJuff
Wow! What a result, well done. As for the cross stitch query try The Patchwork Rabbit site. Lots of choice and great prices.

craftyhunnypie
I'll get you the piccies tomorrow, when I have a bit more time ( she says). Been busy making a cross stitch Scottie dog needle case. I like the design a lot & even though it's on red Aida - I think it would also work well on a pastel coloured Aida - a bit Cath Kidston style. At the moment it reminds me of the Radley dog. I've got a Hardanger kit to do too, but it's a lot bigger than I thought it was - so it will have to do for a show in the distant future. I got a cross stitch magazine - as there is a beautiful Red Riding hood chart in it - plus I liked the kit on the front of it too. I will look up that website for reasonable price kits - thanks! Hubby is entering the mens cake class in the next show. It's a set recipe & I've got to give him advice he says. Advice yes...but I'm not making it - no way! I think it is an almond & choc chip cake. Will be funny to see him studying the recipe etc. I've decided I'm going to start & have a ' box of makes'. That way I've always got a gift to give someone. Whether it be a birthday, anniversary or just a pick me up gift. I thought it would be a good idea. Emma.x
craftyhunnypie
Another show today...but no prizes for my handicrafts. Nevermind. However - I got a 3rd for my Bara Brith, a 2nd for my 4 Brown eggs & a 1st for my 4 Bantam eggs. ( Good girls ) Hubby got a 1st for his Almond & Choc chip cake ( mens section) - bless him! I'm very proud of him! Another show next week & the week after! Busy times round here. Emma.x
