What's on your bedside table?

Recommended Posts

I have a

bedside lamp

hair band

Kindle (flat) and cover (not actually in it)

a ring

tissues

pack of paracetamol

reading book (currently Terry Pratchetts The Colour of Magic)

letter from YD

Kirstys Homemade home (been there almost a year and haven't opened it since I got it for Xmas)

bits of paper used as temp bookmarks

my watch, and I think that's about it.

I usually have a glass of water, several books in a teetering pile and used to have an alarm clock until I hit it off one morning and it flew across the room, battery went flying and now the display no longer works

I also have a label cut out of a top with flower button attached

pot of Nivea

Rennie - 3 left in the blister pack.

My hubby has

same bedside lamp

Alarm clock

laptop for watching TV programmes whilst I am reading

In my bedside cabinet.... :anxious: .....it's too scary and full of junk to even know where to start!

Ooh, blimey, I was hoping that the 'inside' didn't count!!

I open the door on rare occasions and normally shut it again very quickly

Nooo, let's not go there; I try not to open the drawer if I can help it.

Agreed.

What happens inside the bedside cabinet- stays inside the bedside cabinet :talk2hand:

Seems there are quite a few folks who have TVs or other technology in their bedrooms, interesting.

I don't have anything apart from a DAB radio (recently upgraded from an old wireless) but then as some of you know, I am rather old-fashioned when it comes to TV

I have trouble staying awake long enough to finish off the day's paper, let alone get any reading done :(

Me too - a radio as I like to wake up to Radio 4 and catch up on the news while I get dressed in the morning, but no TV. I only have one TV in the house and rarely watch it. I only take the mobile upstairs if I need to set it as a back-up alarm, I have been known to sleep through the Lumie AND the radio so if I have a train to catch I use it.

I have a chest of drawers next to my side of the bed on top of which I have:

a telephone

mobile phone charger ( mobile phone doubles as an alarm clock)

alarm clock ( but the alarm is rubbish)

plastic beaker

pair of specs and case

lip balm

handcream

lamp

a Paddington Bear

Mr W's chest of drawers is so cluttered I've given up dusting it!

I agree, I had several glorious technology free years, but OH has recently bought a tv for our bedroom, I don't mind in the mornings, but I get cross if it is on at bedtime, because there is a tv downstairs if he wants to watch, but there isn't a bed downstairs if I want to sleep

We recently went away to a glorious barn conversion in Lincolnshire.... blissfully peaceful except for the fact that it had a large flat screen in the living room and another in each of the bedrooms. I unplugged the one in our room and forbade Phil to put it on, Rosie had hers on though and sadly spent most of her holiday in her room watching it.... another good reason not to use the telly at home!
