The Dogmother
Chatting to a friend, I am amazed by the piles of junk on my bedside table/beside my bed. Here's mine, what's on yours? Alarm clock, glass of water, earplugs, tissues, recipes torn out of the newspaper/magazines, light, shiny gemstones (not sure what they are on there for), pile of books that I got out of the library to take on hols in August and not read (they've been renewed twice!), nail file, reading glasses. On the floor; book lent by a friend that I have yet to read, back copy of Practical Poultry mag, 2 copies of New Scientist, 1 back issue of National Geographic, some crocheting that I started 2 years ago and never finished hand-knitted wool socks (thanks Snowyxx), dust bunnies One cat
Lavenders_Blue
I don't have a bedside table, but tend to dump stuff on the top of the bedstead where I can reach it. At the moment the accumulated junk comprises: Alarm clock Various bits of jewellery including two single earrings that have lost their mates Empty mug Empty water glass Hair bobbles Kirby Grips Hair slide Box of tissues Price tags from clothing that have not been thrown away A sequinned coin purse that I don't use Bottle of perfume Can of deodorant ... I have no idea why I feel the need to have this stuff to hand in case of midnight emergencies! As you can see - I am not a tidy person Oh and tucked under the bed are various copies of magazines and my Kindle.
Olly
Books (several), only one of which I am currently reading. Reading Lamp Glasses (when I'm actually in bed). On the other bedside table (I have a double bed to myself) Lumie alarm clock Tube of footcream On the dressing-table opposite: Radio alarm (as I cannot be relied on to get up when the Lumie comes on!) More books I really try to keep the bedroom tidy, but books are my worst failing!
snowberry
Several books, Kindle, Light, Mobile (for the alarm in the morning), Power cables, Motorola tablet, Asthma pump, Ewer I used to have the basin for the ewer. This used to on top of a heavy Victorian chest that also had a tv on it. The chest was incredibly heavy. A few years ago I was going through divorce & was pretty stressed. I had started to sleepwalk. One night I woke myself up just as the tv exploded onto the floor. I had only managed to crawl behind the chest to escape Him in a nightmare & knocked everything off
