Chicken Shirl
Sorry, I can't tell you what breed he is Zakjon-98. He came from a flock of wild hens here in Tenerife...A friend found him and gave him to me when he was a tiny chick...He is a very gentle bird and gorgeous with his girls they all love him. Redwing
Look at the size of those spurs I always think Minky's comb is quite amazing, no way in the world could you set out to get a comb quite like that on a cockerel and actually manage it, its so straight and perfect especially given that most of it isnt actually attached to his head! I wish my Wyandottes were beautifully balanced like that, Minky has the same amount of body in front of and behind his legs - perfectly balanced And he has such a lovely character too, always looking out for his ladies Strangely your OH looks like my boss! Chicken Shirl
Tasha......I always think Minky and Dave look alike Tasha. They say we start to look like our animals. Not noticed any feathers on our Dave yet though. Thank you for your kind comments.I had now idea he was all those things you said Tasha.....Blimey! Your right about the climate guys....I'm sure it has helped sleeping outdoors under the stars in a tree. A young friend of mine has made me a dreamcatcher with feathers from my chooks that have passed on. It has the spur that broke off Minky's leg last year on it as well.....The new one started growing almost straight away. The dreamcatcher is beautiful and my precious chickens are always with me.
