Space Chick
Chaps, I just need to warn you.... DO NOT take food parcels to your local animal rescue in person I had a big bag of dried food which I no longer feed, some tins my two won't eat and some toys which I'd been meaning to take to the rescue I support (I also sponsor a cat pen there). So Tuesday I go.... "Take it up to the cattery" I'm told.... I did.... Got chatting to the main cattery lady who remembered me from adopting Harry and Sabrina, also in 12 months only 1 more person had sponsored a pen (they are independently run, so these are vital funds).... Then she told me about all the kittens they'd had in abandoned after Christmas.... One in particular was a story that melted my heart... A little girl, dumped in a cardboard box a few days after Christmas... I met here.... I fell in love. She is now the newest member of the Chez SpaceChick household I'm posting so early as I am up playing with the little 10 week old trouble maker She is completely adorable and OH and I are both in love However, he has banned me from ever taking a donation in person again So everyone, meet little Sophie

I'm lucky as tescos have a wood green food bin outside their entrance!! I had an instant NO from hubby..... Until he saw her picture and heard her story.... Then it became.... Well we can afford another cat, and 3 cats are as easy as 2, I had 3 cats growing up.... Etc etc Chrissie - It's interesting you say that. I didn't do cats either..... I never minded them, my Nan had one when I was growing up, but I'd always viewed myself as a "dog" person. Then our now departed Thomas came into my life, when he was left behind when my neighbour was taken into care.... And we adopted him, and he turned me around. Never thought I'd see the day when I'd have 3 though I think it is safe to say I have transitioned into crazy cat lady now
Olly
I thought this was going to be a horrid story about food donations being stolen or something .... I wasn't expecting that! She is gorgeous - love that delightful pink paw in the photo!

Goosey Lucy
She is adorable. I regularly help on school trips but turned one down as it was to include a tour of the local animal rescue centre. I couldn't trust myself to not smuggle someone home with me.
Omletina Kyckling
Oh my gosh she is absolutely adorable!!! I wouldn't have resisted her either, she is very like Pippi, with those ear tufts in her ears, I wouldn't be surprised if there is Maine coon in there!!! Well done you!!!! mollyripkim
She is absolutely gorgeous and a lucky girl to have found a lovely home. I know what you mean about being early, my dear little Merlin, who is now 14 weeks, decided to lick my face and headbutt me whilst purring very loudly at 6.30 am. bluekarin
I too thought it was going to be a horror story about nasty people contaminating food.....but so glad it wasn't. What an absolute Sweetie! Love love love her pink pads and her fluffiness! As a friend would say 'squee!' I have never thought of myself as a dog person, but always a cat. However growing up my cousins would have them and I had a fear of their claws getting stuck. Still have it tbh. Can't imagine a home without them now. superkitty
Gorgeous! I though about volunteering at our local cat rescue once, but then when I thought it through I realised it probably wasn't a good idea given what a sucker I am for a pair of sad eyes
