Chickvic
Back from a very indulgent holiday will be weighing in tomorrow to see what the damage is back to 5:2 on Monday!
Ain't Nobody Here
Two friends commented on my weight loss at step this morning . I'm really enjoying the feeling of not being "on a diet" - it really does seem like a way of life that could be sustainable .
Chickvic
That's great ANH, I must admit I feel that way about it as well! I weighed this morning and only gained 2 lb so am very pleased! Back to it on Monday
Chicken deficient
I was going to start today, my plan being to have starvation, sorry 'fast', days coincide with the two mornings my little boy has lunch at nursery. However, a combination of chicken related upset and finding a box of Guylian chocolates on top of the kitchen cupboard, foiled my plans. Wish me luck for Thursday! The Dogmother
Well, Rosie and I have had a week in Greece with my dad; it was all inclusive, so very tempting to eat as much as possible, but I was careful. No fast days but I ate healthily at breakfast time, no lunch then a modest dinner with very little carbs. I haven't put a lot back on, and managed to get to the gym most days... back to fasting though and eating less I think.
LolaLayla
I am struggling this week to select the 'right' days. I may give this week a miss and refocus next week
Ain't Nobody Here
I think that's half the beauty of this "diet" - you can do that and know that it's easy to start up again . I've stopped feeling guilty if I eat more than I should on a fast day, I just try to make up for it another time.
The Dogmother
Yes, I started with good intentions too this morning, but it all went to pot.
chickweed
Congratulations to everyone losing wieght You all seem to be so positive. I have been doing the 5:2 diet for 8 weeks and have lost 12 lbs. I try not to get too bogged down with calorie counting on my fast days and I survive on endless cups of tea, home made soup and hard boiled eggs, maybe a slice of toast. I have joined The 5:2 Fast Diet Forum mainly to use its tracker facility which I find is really useful. It's great to see my BMI coming down as well. I find measuring my waist problematic because I'm not sure the tape measure is in the same place each time! I am hoping to lose another stone. Another bonus of this diet is the money saved, not only on food but on membership fees to weight watchers and the like.
Chickvic
I agree about not paying any fees it's just one of the reasons I chose to try this out! Congrats on the weight loss too
Ain't Nobody Here
I find the waist measurement hard to get accurately too . I'm always amazed that your waist is supposed to be half your height . I'm getting there though .
The Dogmother
Well I flunked out on that fast day then! had a very trying day at work and sought comfort in the fridge Still, will start again tomorrow
Ain't Nobody Here
I did really well today .... till I got home from work . Seem to have been nibbling all evening .
Chickvic
Weigh in today, lost the 2lb I'd gained and an extra half lb - quite happy with that!
The Dogmother
No chance at work today... Friday is bacon buttie day, PLUS it's a colleague's birthday so he gets to choose what the housekeeper cooks for lunch; we will be having haddock and chips and lots of cake I can feel a fast day will be needed tomorrow and I'll keep the portions small today. LolaLayla
Sounds like you get good food at work DM. So tempting Well done everyone for keeping going. Best diet ever I managed to fit in one fast day and I was really surprised to find that I had lost another lb I am now at my goal weight. Probably not my ideal weight but once you get to a certain age I think that is ok. Too thin and the wrinkles show more.
Ain't Nobody Here
That's certainly my excuse, LL . I've had a couple of good days so am hoping I'll have gone just under 10st - that's my goal, to stay at or around that weight .
LolaLayla
Keeping fingers crossed that you have made your goal ANH
Ain't Nobody Here
Just had a homemade curry (by OH, not me), a 1/3 of a bottle of wine and a massive bowl of icecream so it's looking unlikely .
The Dogmother
We've just been out too - I owed Phil a meal for house-sitting while Rosie and I went away with my father, so we went to a village pub not far from here and had a selection of starters; they are known for their massive portions
LolaLayla
Seems to have been a bit of a problem night all round. YS returned tonight from one of his jobs (in a chip shop) with a haggis supper that was extra ...it would have been a sin to waste it
Cinnamon
Well I fell of the tracks in spectacular fashion last week, but feel better in myself now (half of dieting is in your head,I am sure .....get your mindset right & its much easier), so am fasting again tomorrow. The Dogmother
I am fasting today, yesterday was a total 'abort'... it was cold and I was tired, and we had a birthday at work, so lots of lovely food including a chocolate mouse cake So far today I've just had a tiny bowl of Special K with soft fruit and a coffee, drinking plenty of water and green tea and keeping busy. I will have a wee bit of tzatziki with carrot sticks at lunchtime. Go for it Sarah, I find that once you start to see results, it's a lot easier. Cinnamon
Thanks - I feel able to do this now I WISH today could be a fast day,but I am working until 7.30 tonight & have to get through a lunch hour too (not to mention all the goodies whizzing past me on the belt) I have come to terms with the fact that I also need to cut down a bit on non fast days, which is actually much easier now its just myself & the Husband living at home. Until he buys cake & cheese that is
The Dogmother
Try not to dwell on the food at work Sarah - think of it as 'things' rather than munchies. I am eating healthier/less on my non-fast days too... well, when there isn't chocolate cake at work that is!
