On the other hand my hot tip of the day is to find somewhere shady - I'm wilting!!!!!

 

I am not sitting in the freezer yet though, now that would be silly. But I'm cursing the shelves in the fridge for being inconveniently placed.

Go to the supermarket and open a freezer door and stand there for a couple of mins or till you are told off. I also find flapping the top of my T shirt whilst doing this cools the appendages only us gals have. Blisssssssssssss and ouch to the wax and citronella -i feel your pain - shaving and then deodorant has a sinmilar affect.its not nice being menopausal in a heatwave I will tell you.

this also applies to the Dead Sea if you ever go - do not enter with any cuts or freshly shaved areas - stings like a banshee

 

My top tip today would be - get up & do all the hot jobs early, then siesta in the afternoon, mind you I have not had time for the second part & still have to take boys swim training in Manchester

For those of you who feel the heat; dampen some hand towels and put them in carrier bags in the freezer for about an hour - they are lovely and cool when the come out. I take them in a cool bag to Rosie's summer races when she needs cooling down.

This puts me in mind of a friend who had an old Maestro and did the shopping one week at the beginning of summer and slung it all, in carrier bags, in the back of the car rather than the boot. She was convinced that she had bought a pack of butter but couldn't find it when she came to unpack. Over the next few, sweltering weeks, she noticed an odd smell and could not work out what it was.......yup, you guessed it! The butter had fallen out of the bag, gone under the back seat somehow and then gently melted into the carpet.

My friend was given a work car that had a funny smell about it. Many weeks of vigorous cleaning and air freshening later, she found the dead hamster under the passenger seat.

Dont be holding the kitten in the garden in a strappy top (me not kitten ) when OH puts on strimmer - result a large red scratch from left armpit to left boob and over left shoulder - and she wails pathetically " it hurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrts" on a scale of 1-10 - 10 being highest its 20!! Wimp - yes!!

I epilate with my braun... and would never dream of adding anything to my freshly plucked legs till the chicken plucked effect has worn off. It would be too painful. Ouchhhh

I epilate my legs and it doesn't hurt (much ) but, take it from me....experience yesterday told me that an epilator is NOT suitable for underarms
