Recommended Posts

wow, strange but it really makes me want to have a sprog, just so I can buy a cake tin :?

I can assure you you don't need a sprog to appreciate this cake, just ask Dan

Once I've been on the real Thomas train. Hoping it will get it out of my system Andrew. It can be embarrassing at times when friends come round and I play the soundtrack CD on continual....

You probably won't believe this, but I can hear Darren singing Polly put the Kettle on in the kitchen. I wouldn't mind, but Stefan is in bed!

Who needs sprogs - when you've got chickens?!!!

Mind you they can be similar, won't go to bed on time, the tantrums and the dirty looks. Hmmmm!

Just buy the tin - you can always make a cake for you ' hen' parties!

Funny enough we are going to Lakeland today at Handforth - then visiting friends who have a birthday today. Wonder if they'd like a train cake?

Funnily enough I went to Lakeland in Handforth yesterday.

I had a look at the cake tin...it is an all in one arrangement and weighs a ton!

Anyroadup....they also sell a cake release thingy....imaginatively called Cake Release.....I reckon it would do the trick. The cake tin does have an awful lot of nooks and crannies.

Just out of interest.....

Would you use plain flour or self raising in this tin? and has anyone got any tip on how to get it out of the tin in one smooth, easy go?

I would assume that you would make the cakes as usual with SR flour, and cut off the excess 'bulge' when you take it out. Then eat it, so that no-one knows....:lol::lol:

It does say that you can use something called cake release, or grease the tin and coat with flour. It also has the recipe included (takes a four egg sponge mix)

Yes I know - I've succombed  Well I have two little boys with birthdays coming up, think it might just fit the bill!

I use the Cake release stuff from Lakeland - It's great and lasts a lot longer than the sell by date on the label, after all its only some sort of oil.

I want a Train Tin too.... so next excuse to go to Lakeland I'll be there - perhaps I can persuade my colleagues to go for lunch tomorrow.

Has anyone tried their beef sandwiches......... Mmmmm Fantastic and worth every penny of the expensive price tag. :D

That sounds fab Snowy.. can we come to the parties??? We love jelly and ice cream :D

As long as you don't mind wearing it Clare!

The cake release looked like a good idea with the design being so intricate on the tin. So I ordered some of that as well.:D

I'm making Jake's birthday cake for this weekend - mini versions of the infamous Poo Cake - which Kate has named Splats!.

He's much more into poo than trains  - and they'll be so much easier to make  He's having a Bugs party at the Butterfly Farm.
