The Dogmother
It was thrashing down when I went to bed last night - quite nice to hear the rain hammering against the window. Clean and freshly washed this morning with bright skies going to a local village show today, so want it to be nice for them.
Purplemaniacs
We had two storms yesterday. Late morning I took the two older granddaughters out for a quick walk to post a letter but we ended up in the little village churchyard they (5 and 10) find it fascinating looking at the names and ages on the gravestones. Suddenly noticed the rather large black cloud approaching so we hurried home to the sound of distant thunder and just got in the house when it chucked it down. Last night we had some more heavy rain. As DM says lovely morning and the promise of a nice day. Tomorrow not looking so good I have got the family coming for afternoon tea so was hoping to use the garden but I don't think so looking at the forecast Chrissie
The Dogmother
Lovely today - bright, breezy and warm it has clouded over now, and looked like rain when I rushed out to cut the grass, but came to nowt
Purplemaniacs
Very dark here this morning and it is now raining, very hard at times and rumbles of thunder to go with it. Need the lights on in the house to see what I am cooking Chrissie
The Dogmother
It's been thrashing about and bucketing here since about 7am, sadly no thunder though Great fun at the village show yesterday - met up with a group of lurcher-owning friends and showed our dogs in the hound class; was really funny as they were all competing against each other, but best of friends. Ruby didn't place, but my old lad Cyrus came 3rd, only just beaten by two of his friends. We did laugh as I nearly didn't show him... The Boy managed to get up here for the afternoon (and was going to show Cyrus while I showed Ruby), but was late arriving, so he trotted the old man round the ring with a beer in his hand
mullethunter
The rain came through overnight but didn't amount to much. All was calm when I got up to let the girls out, but since then it's got mega windy and has snapped off my sunflower. It grew from birdseed, was about eight feet tall and had just started to grow a flower. Gutted
soapdragon
Rain overnight and noticably less sticky today. Greyish skies and breezy - more rain forecast but not sure as it seems brighter now than first thing Off to an 80th birthday party later so hoping it brightens up! Purplemaniacs
Off to an 80th birthday party later so hoping it brightens up! I hope so 80th birthdays are special. I have got the family coming for afternoon tea this afternoon, I was hoping the children could go outside and play but we have had a lot of rain already and although it has stopped now we had a lot in a short time and the ground is very soggy. Milie (lab) and I popped out to check on the chooks and we got soaked and that was a quick run to the eglu and back. Chrissie
The Dogmother
We've had torrential rain and sunny intervals, thunder and there's a lot of standing water on the roads around here.
chickencam
We had a couple of very heavy showers and steady rain most of the day, with a dry spell long enough to virtually get one load of post holiday washing dry.
The Dogmother
I took advantage of one of the brief sunny spells to get the dogs out earlier as they had serious cabin fever, saw some lovely , stormy looking weather fronts from the top of one hill. It is raining heavily and blowing a gale again now

Purplemaniacs
We had a lovely evening sunny but windy and it was a moonlit night. This morning is bright and sunny with a light breeze but definitely cooler. Chrissie

chickencam
Lovely breezy morning here too, really hoping it will stay dry long enough for me to get some of my mountains of washing dry.
soapdragon
Have been doing the Hokey Cokey with the washing this morning and have now given up and hung it up on the sheila maid Heavy showers and bright sunny episodes! The 80th party was indoors yesterday and good job too as it was, again, very heavy showers. Brigtened up later and the boys managed to get out into the garden to run off some steam. Def much cooler tho, nicer for a good nights sleep!
Blackrocksrock
Anyone heard from Ali S as there is a load of flooding up here and in particular where she is based near her castle. The rivers here are bursting their banks right left and centre - its not been a good day for travellers.
The Dogmother
Oh golly she's not in here as often as she used to be, but they had very bad flooding before. I hope they are ok.

chickencam
It did feel and smell like autumn yesterday, but today has been much warmer and quite humid, despite the breeze I have been struggling to get my washing dry.
