The Dogmother
Me too Vicki; the dentist didn't dare make his usual recommendation to see the hygienist
Luvachicken
We had to send ours back The button kept getting stuck. I blamed hubby, he made the handle very wet each time he used it Anyway, Amazon has been very good - sending us a new one - and I told hubby to make sure he dries it after each use. Eggasperated
Still use mine twice daily, I have the occasional problem with gums bleeding as well ANH I just have to avoid that bit for a couple of days and then, as your dentist said, adjust the angle. Unfortunately OH is not so diligent and stopped using it after the first month, he is having some false teeth this month and the dentist says he must up his hygiene routine so hopefully he will start using the waterpic again. The Dogmother
Just resurrecting this as I am feeling pretty smug; had a check-up this afternoon, and he begrudgingly admitted that it looked like I had just been to the hygienist it is 4 years since I last saw one. Ha!!!!
Ain't Nobody Here
Well done . I've got an appointment in a few weeks, I'll hope for the same result! Funny, I was thinking of updating my experience of the Waterpik on here! I still use mine every night before brushing my teeth and often after eating during the day too, if I happen to be at home (it would be tricky away from home ). It's amazing what's left behind in your mouth when you think you've swallowed everything . I find lettuce, cereals, dried fruits & nuts and wholegrain bread, amongst other things, are the worst culprits (it's the healthy things, annoyingly ). Blackrocksrock
I am over in America and have just bought one of these for £26 from Walmart. A very happy bunny. Just will use the international charger. About to try it today as been charging overnight. Now I have both of them. This forum will have to stop with the suggestions
Ain't Nobody Here
I had my dentist appointment a while ago - got the all clear, once again . He did a scale and polish but I really think he was just going through the motions .
LolaLayla
I am still using mine everyday and my dentist is pleased with how things look when I go too
The Dogmother
It's a good investment, isn't it? Mine positively crows with delight if he manages to hunt out the tiniest bit of plaque and he has stopped routinely recommending that I see the hygienist too - at £50, I don't see why I should pay the equivalent of a week's groceries to do an unnecessary job. Ain't Nobody Here
One year on from the last post and 2 1/2 years since I bought my Waterpik, I still love it and use it 2 or 3 times a day but the battery just doesn't hold a charge at all now . I suppose 2 1/2 years is pretty good but I don't know why they can't be made to last longer . Wondering about a Phillips one now, for a change. Anybody got one of them?
The Dogmother
I hsve had mine roughly the same amount of time, but only use it once a day; the battery is fine so far. I have used a Phillips one Vicki, and it's not nearly as good.
Ain't Nobody Here
Thanks, DM. Anybody know about the Panasonic one? That seems to have reasonable reviews.
chooksRCute
I've just joined this bandwagon having took delivery & charged my Waterpik overnight. Was excited to use it this morning..........I've just finished mopping the bathroom but my teeth feel lovely !!!
Charlottechicken
Another Omlet must-have! I've just been reading some reviews on the Boots site and there are a lot saying that the battery is failing to hold a charge after just a year. Ain't Nobody Here
I thought I'd only had mine about a year (had to check on here to see!) so I suppose I've been pretty lucky getting 2 1/2 years out of it! It's still working (with regular charging) but isn't as powerful a jet. Think I'll get another one but wait till this one dies completely. The Dogmother
Just to resurrect this topic; the battery on mine finally gave out after 2 years of using it once daily. Boots no longer stocks them, but Waterpiks are still available online, so I shopped around and was seduced into buying a cheaper alternative..... lived to regret it though - ruddy thing was made in China, worked once and never again!!! I returned it for a full refund and got another Waterpik - the battery seems to have more staying power, an the pump is smoother sounding. I am back in love with my dental power flosser! LolaLayla
Mine is still working thankfully. I still love it.
