Groovychook
Another sad loss Such a warm and jovial man. By all accounts, just as nice in person as he was on air and screen. R.I.P. Sir Terry
Charlottechicken
Another big name gone Eurovision was never the same without him. A fine broadcaster. RIP Sir Terry
Alis girls
So sad - I loved listening to his lovely Irish burr. I remember him making up new lyrics to Kenny Rogers "Lucille" - hilarious. Another one of our youth gone. RIP
chickencam
So sad, I grew up listening to him
Grandmashazzie
So sad, another great gone. I loved his radio show and his Janet and John tales RIP Terry.
mullethunter
He used to get me to work every morning whilst I was doing a job I hated. For me is is the biggest loss so far this year. He was truly a legend and national treasure (despite not actually being British!) and will be missed. Janet and John on the stereo for us tonight whilst cooking the dinner. Grandmashazzie
Bittersweet radio this morning.Chris Evans used Terry's voice for some intros. He also played a Janet and John scenario when Terry could hardly speak for laughing,so lovely to hear him again.Chris said he is going to re introduce Janet and John. I hope he means the original.
soapdragon
Very sad news indeed. I, too, grew up listening to him and he always made me smile or laugh out loud. He had such a friendly, reassuring voice and a wonderfully warped sense of humour
Egluntyne
Devastated. I remember crying with laughter over his thoughts on Dallas and Dynasty, or Dysentery, as he called it, the Nolan Brothers, and how he resurrected a positively dreadful song about a lighthouse shining across the bay by a 1930's German Actor called Conrad Veidt. He caused it to be bought by fans and it made its way into the charts.
Valkyrie
Who can forget "the poison dwarf" Charlene in Dallas!!! I went to school with him in the mornings and then when I was getting up for work. My two used to have to listen to him when I did the school runs. I'd be crying with laughter at traffic lights on the way home! That would be Janet and John. Then the fireworks that they had which were the best ever! I wrote in once and was really happy not because he'd read it out but because it had made him laugh. Sadly the end of an era.

Luvachicken
Very, very sad. I have to admit to loving The Floral Dance
chickencam
Very touching One Show tribute tonight, with Alan Dedicote, Graham Norton, Lyn Bowles, Chris Evans and a few others. Chris read a statement from his family at the end just before the Floral dance was played by the Brighouse and Rastrick brass band.his voice was breaking as he read it. R.I.P Sir Terry. soapdragon
OH found some recordings of Janet and John on the interweb and we were crying with laughter listening to them. Truly a multi talented man!
Sil-El
Oh my goodness I remember that one! Wasn't there one that had the lines "your red scarf matches your eyes, you close your cover before striking, loving you has made me bananas"? Was that the same song of another one? I definitely remember it being one of Terry's regular's for while, cos my dad used to sing it all the time! I grew up listening to Wogan, Radio 2 was the only radio station my parents would listen to and when I heard of Terry's passing on Sunday I actually felt like I'd lost part of my childhood. Very sad
The Dogmother
Was devastated to hear this on Sunday morning... a true gent, kind man and had a talent in making you feel that he was talking directly to you as he broadcasted.
Alis girls
Had to google the Lighthouse song - truely horrendous.
Grandmashazzie
Just listened to his memorial service on radio. Very moving. But why does Chris Evans tell the same story, he told it on his radio show and the one show and again this am. For any Janet and John fans all the stories are available to download @ charity goods.com with proceeds to Children in Need.
Valkyrie
Thanks for the link. I loved those stories. As for Evans - well . . .
