Mark Knopfler) FOR SHAME OF DOING WRONG - Richard and linda Thompson, or even the Fairport version - FANTASTIC Bird of paradise - snowy white Hotel California - eagles (when I heard this in ~75 as a new release I was painting the loo door in my Edinburgh flat). Lesson too late for the learning - Paxton (now we're going back - saw him in the 60's) Sorta Fairytale - Tori Amos I will always love you - Whitney's version But all time favourite song, rather boringly, just has to be; WHITER SHADE OF PALE and I once met the sister of the bloke who claimed to be the session drummer on this track when it was recorded. His story was that he was offered a very very small percentage of profits, or £25 for the session... And he took the £25 (very decent money back in 1967 - £100 a week would be considered really big earnings, I remember it well!). But then again, she might not have been telling me the truth!
