tenzin
Why i think of it Greyhounds love to sleep slightly off the floor as they aren't keen on drafts , and don't worry if she seems to sleep alot as that's what they spend 23 hours a day doing

I asked a few questions on the Greytalk forum (http://forum.greytalk.com) they have also been very helpful - particularly when I asked about a greyhound and freerange chickens - an ex-omlet member posted some gorgeous pics of her greyhound together with her chooks! thanks again, Phil
Egluntyne
Congratulations. She looks like a regal Egyptian hound framed against the window.
gooner.girl
Phil - she's gorgeous! I love her ears... Milo says he has a slot open for a date friday night if she's interested in an older man...
tenzin
Just keep a muzzle on her when she's out with the hens , my old greyhound was fine for 3 weeks then chased a cat , luckily i had a muzzle on him . In time she'll be fine , but always be careful casue they sure can move and the hens clucking and flapping will really stimulate her natural tendonsies . Do you know what her race name was ? Rhapsody
I wanted to rescue a greyhound but was told by the Trust that I needed 7-ft fence all around my property so I got Zeus from battersea Old Windsor. Still want one though.
Karen & co.
Congratulations My sister has a rescue gh, they got her 2 days after her last race, but she wasn't used to house living, as she had been kept in kennels My sister was expecting a whippet sized dog, but Abbie can stand with her nose on the dining table she is so tall You can imagine my sisters face karen x

Guest
She's absolutley gorgeous Phil - she reminds me of my grandmothers old dog. She was a rescued greyhound, who would only answer to a very rude name, because she had been such an unsuccessful racer, she was always called 'you stupid old... ' She was a beautiful pet though, and we all loved her dearly, as I'm sure you and the family will love Lucky!

little chickadee
I've got a hound dog too. We've only had the chooks a couple of weeks and havn't let her near them yet. She shook with excitement when we first got one, but hubby has been walking her round and round the run with her lead on and she doesn't seem too interested now. She's best friends with our kitten and they rub noses whenever one of them has been out and come back again! Our chooks aren't going to be completely free range (we've got lots of places they could escape from!) but will introduce Holly to them with a muzzle on just so she gets more used to them as part of the family. I'm going to try adding some photos but may get it wrong! http://s236.photobucket.com/albums/ff38/chickadee1974/?action=view¤t=holly20on20her20bed1.jpg http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff38/chickadee1974/holly20and20rattle1.jpg http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff38/chickadee1974/hollyonthesofa.jpg Pardon for the delicious carpet - it was here when we moved in and we can's afford to replace it yet! I'll let you know how we get on with the chicken familiarisation process - we will be taking it very slowly, but so far she doesn't seem that fussed! what's her racing name? do you know?
