Wind & Rain & Weather

Recommended Posts

we've had gale force winds since Monday night. Overnight I have lost part of the rabbit and chicken run roofs (the corrugated plastic stuff), as well as part of the utility room roof (same stuff but slightly sturdier - parts of this house have a lot of work to be done ....). OH is away again from tonight with the TA and I am just wondering how much more damage is going to be done while he is away.

We are in quite an exposed spot 10 minutes walk from the sea front and there is nothing to really break the gusts of wind around us as we back onto a footpath and cricket pitch and we have a fairly large corner plot. I think my fence might be next - we have already had to re-fix three of the fence panels this week. We have clay soil and it is really boggy at the moment. Poo picking is a delight every morning as I nearly go a-over-t as I squelch round the garden!

And I'm meant to be doing estate inspections this morning! Good job I'm not a light weight .... I might get blown away (wishful thinking methinks)

One of the three sheds that we use for table birds went flying yesterday - it was resting against the fence with the door wedged closed.

Luckily, it was the one they use during the day when it is blustery - they sleep in the other two. Perhaps it was because it was empty :? - just realised

This weather is seriously getting on MY NERVES NOW!!!:evil::evil:

We've had constant wet, and wind here in Devon since the 30th of November

I cant remember the last time I saw the sun.

Its flooded on the roads, my garden is terrible and I feel soooo sorry for my chooks - poor little things.:cry: My backdoor area in the kitchen is constantly wet, Im forever mopping up and the dog and husband come in from a walk and the dog shakes everywhere!

Didnt we have enough wet in the summer?! Its really getting me down now.

Awful here too. I decided to go to the Post Office, which is now over a mile away since they closed the one in our 'village' So, it's a very long walk up and down through a park with bad paving or a bus ride there and back total cost £2.80. There is no parking near the Post Office. It wasn't too bad going there, got a little wet, but coming back was awful. I stepped in several rather deep puddles as all the pathways had flooded in the park, and had boots full of water by the time I got home. My jeans are on the kitchen floor as they were dripping and I didn't want them upstairs, and my coat has disgorged its watery contents all over the living room carpet  My bag is soaked through too, and the receipt for my package is all smudged

Can we have some sun now please :?

Heavy sleet here, so it's white on the cars but slush on the roads. I haven't let the girls out today which always makes me feel guilty :( , and was hoping not to have to fill feeders or drinkers till the morning but the wee ducks had slunged (great word  ) their water everywhere so I had to do refills  .
