im SO angry. ( shopping rant)

Recommended Posts

Grrrrrrr!!!

I need to shout !!!!

Christmas shopping -

I placed an order online with the Chelsea FC megastore on the 1st of December (£170 worth) of assorted items - clothing/calendars/books etc for Christmas presents. Everything fine, delivery 3-5 days.

Thursday last week - nothing received - I ring them to find out "some" of my items are "out of stock" and the rest of the order is being despatched that day. I reorder some items to replace the out of stock ones. I was told I would be called today regarding an out of stock item.

Low and behold - I dont get called and I ring them tonight and im told NONE of my items are being despatched - my order is CANCELLED  as all of the order is out of stock!!!!:shock: I told the girl on the phone it was not good enough and why on earth didnt someone notify me by phone or e mail - because if I hadnt of rung I would still be sat waiting for my order. she kept saying "sorry" etc. She said to go back online and "re order" again.

I go back online and ALL of the items I have on my original order are still showing IN STOCK ORDER NOW!!:evil:

im so cheesed off, I have sent an angry e mail to the customer service team but they really dont seem to give a monkeys and im coming to the end of my tether as I thought I had all my shopping sorted and time is now running out.

Rant over..............and breathe.............. :cry::cry:

Oh Chelsea, how downright maddening - I had that last year when I oredered some stuff online and found out at the last minute that it was all out of stock! Why these companies can't keep their websites up to date is beyond me - they shouldn't be selling on line if they can't keep pace with it.

Deep breaths and have a drink! :D

my sentiments exactly! It cant be that hard can it? why oh why are they still saying "in stock"?? there must be hundreds of people in the same boat if they are still advertising available products.

If I dont get a reply to my e mail im going to ring and ask for a manager....they are closed now - which is a shame as I have to go to bed angry and irritated !!

Before I had the children I worked for Boots as a pharmacy dispenser, This also involved a lot of contact with customers who were usually sick and often rude but we were told that 'The Customer is always right' and I always tried hard to give good service. It therefore makes me really angry when I get bad or rude service.

A couple of years back we ordered quite a few items from Boots online. Misguided ex-employee loyalty. When thay arrived in a badly packed and badly damaged box I was furious. I complained to customer services who said they would contact me the next day. I didn't hear another thing so I am afraid I have voted with my feet.

We have ordered a rubiks light up cube thingy for our nephew 2 weeks ago from Play.com. it has been dispatched. but not arrived here.... we have to wait 21 days before it can be officially declared lost :x

In the meantime we will have to get it from somewhere else in order to get it delivered to nephew in time for Christmas.

It is infuriating isn't it... I had to order something for my daughter three times from three different companies, before finally finding one that had it in stock (called them first to check, had ordered from there before without problem but this product was not their speciality, so tried specialised sites first, next time I'll just go for the site I know!!)... One of those three companies stated clearly that 'all items listed are in stock, any items not in stock is taken off the listing'... yeah sure... they took money instantly, then had to refund it because they couldn't fulfill the order...

Then people say, 'it's Xmas, it's a busy time'... so?? it comes every year on the same date, so it shouldn't exactly take anyone by surprise, should it? If I can, as a mother, plan xmas for the family, have guests, go and visit relatives, attend endless carol concerts and nativity plays and end of term swimming matches and so on (with four kids a lot is going on) and organise all in all 43 presents (for kids, hubbie, relatives, nieces and nephews, friends, teachers and so on), why can't shops be organised and keep their stocks updated??

My view is, some stores just hope you'll order something else... they kept saying 'we have this or that'... well this or that is not what I wanted, and weeks before Xmas is an issue with their stock, not my organisation...

I had the same recently with an LPG oven - very difficult to get hold of - Curry's own site showed it as in Stock until you tried to complete the order and then it said that "due to high demand... currently unavailable"

I found it on their sister site Pixmania - In Stock - went ahead and ordered it - money taken from Bank account but then nothing happened. Phoned Pixmania who said it would be delayed. Their site still showed it as In Stock  I phoned Curry's and they said it has been discontinued and they won't be having any more. So..... why can't both sites just delete it from their listings?

It took two weeks to get the refund from Pixmania - and I won't ever order from them again. I won't order from Curry's for problems with trying to phone and speak to the Stratford upon Avon store - you wouldn't believe the conersation I had with the person in the call centre - "Altrincham?", "No!" "erm.... Stockport?" it just went from bad to worse.....

You'll never guess what!!

I was out feeding the girls their corn and hubby comes running out saying a delivery has just come!!!

I have received some of my order, with a really messy delivery note covered in scribbles and some stuff in the package isnt what I ordered

Just spent half an hour on the phone to a helpful chap (as least someone knows what they are doing  ) he admitted my order was a complete mess. I managed to haggle a refund on my postage, a free lunch box (they sent my by mistake) and a free calendar. Still no consolation for shoddy service and mucking me about.

I told him I wont hold my breath waiting for the rest of the order, and also added that I wont be ordering again!!!

Thought I'd share this amazing experience...

I ordered something online for one my girls yesterday... sent the order around 1pm... hoping for a delivery before Xmas (though if it didn't make it by xmas she could have had it afterwards). It was a duvet set with a puppy dog on it... we're repainting her room next week so thought she'd like some new bedding too now that she's outgrowing the whole tweenies and pooh bear thing...

Well at 9.30 this morning, there comes my postman (he must hate me, he is bringing parcels nearly every day here... I thought they'd use a van for that, but he carries mountains with him at the moment), with my duvet set!!!!

What's that for service... so close to xmas, there is stock, and was delivered in under 24 hours...

The company is linenstore uk... I think they deserve it mentioned!!

By the way, talking of postmen, I have an odd question here, I hope some of you will be able to advise me as to what the 'protocole' is... Is it customary to give one's postman a xmas card or a 'tip' at xmas or new year? I have lived in the UK for years, but we always had different postmen, it's the first time I get the same one all the time, and he is a very friendly helpful guy, I was wondering if people usually give the postman anything? I know in our area people give something to the teams who come to collect rubbish, and in Belgium my mum always gave something to the postman, but not sure what is expected here when you have a regular postman? I don't want to offend or insult him by giving him anything, but if it's expected or appreciated, he sure deserves it.

What fab service!

I always keep a note of the online companies who give great service and send them a thankyou e-mail.

As for the postman question - before I've never given the postman a tip as we never seem to have the same one twice, however, this year we have had a regular guy for a few months now who not only puts parcels in my delivery box but signs for them as well :D (nto actually sure if thats a good thing for him to be doing but it sure saves me a trip to the post office). So he will be getting some thankyou money from me this year

I have had a the same sort of nightmare with my Xmas shopping, ordered most of my OHs presents from a shop in America. Site said for instock itmes which they were would take 3 days to dispatch and delivery within 5-15 days. Placed order on 23rd Nov. Got emaikl 3 days later saying card declined (must have typed details in wrong) resubmitted, payment let my account on the 29th, kept going back on the site and checking the status of my order and it was saying 'proccessing' so I emailed them again sayiong it was for xmas, we have been having postale strikes etc will it get here in time? status was changed to ready to ship, still didnt show as shipped for a firther 3 days, so emailed them saying could I pay the extra $18 to make it an express shipping 5-8 days as otherwise it wouldnt arrive in time. emailed back a few days later again, yes no problem, then a few days later told payment declined again!! for godsake, they must have used the wrong details again, they took the money before as my bank statement shows! So I have written them a very angry email saying how incompetant they are and told them to cancel my order and refund me.

I got an email back from them yesterday like an automated responce saying thank you for shopping with us?!? your order has been cancelled and the refund will go back onto your card within 72 hours - Funny thing is they are refunding me for the full amount inculding the extra shipping, which they never charged me for in the end anyway.

still peed off though, Im now having to try to find some last min alternatives and the UK is rubbish for what Im looking for, and sooo much more expensive! :(
