Paola
My Sister and bro in law were considering naming their baby Lucca if it was a boy, their surname is Shaw!! We tried to explain, diplomatically, that that might not be the best idea Thankfully the baby was a girl and they called her Lucy! My son is called Luca. Italian for Luke I think it is a lovely name. The Dogmother
It means 'lightness', but then I guess you know that.

Jules.
Someone i know from my homebirth group called her daughter Neve. The baby was born at home on a snowy day, & Neve is the Italian word for snow.

Couperwife
For now, if anyone wants to know, my baby is provisionally called Marmaduke or Gertrude hey, my great Auntie was called Gertrude apparently its a big thing up norf, calling new babies the mothers maiden name - Robson Green (remember him ) was named like that. my full name is Catherine, only friends call me Cathy, or Cath (dont like Cath much - sorry) family ALL call me Catherine I think a name must suit a little person, regardless of what the name is I was going to be called Susan up until I appeared, then I wasnt!!!! it must be fun (but scary) choosing names for little sproggles - just enjoy giggling over names cathy x
Egluntyne
I suggested an Omlet competition to choose Chookiehen's baby's name. Surprisingly and disappointingly she wasn't keen on the idea, were you Chookie? Maybe Gina and Looney need help with their choices. Some very encouraging suggestions have come up on this thread. Snowy
my full name is Catherine, only friends call me Cathy, or Cath (dont like Cath much - sorry) family ALL call me Catherine Spooky! I'm Catherine, but have always been known as Cathy! (I hate Cath too, but it's usually family that call me Cath ) My boys have very traditional names, and their middle names are all family names. But if we'd had a girl it would have been a bit more adventurous - probably a rebellious thing, I always wanted a cool name as a child!
