Egluntyne
A colleague gave her little girl the name 'Sparkle' That is child abuse. Can you imagine her collecting her pension.
Guest
Oooooh! *Thinks* 'Sparkle James' I think that sounds great! cheers Clare, we were struggling for a girls name....
ali-s
Isn't sparkle the name of a washinup liquid or furniture polish There is a girl at my school whose name is Dolphin, I know someone who named their son Blue and someone who named their Daughter Tiger. All tradtional Scottish names don't you know . Their is also a girl at school called Iona Hall Which led to an afternoon of making up similar silly first and last names Some got quite rude
Ain't Nobody Here
DOLPHIN . What were they thinking? Mr Sparkle was a cleaning product in an episode of The Simpsons - maybe they're fans . There's a boy in my school called Zax (might even be a double xx ). Not short for anything. Spose it's quite but it doesn't really suit him. Tessa the Duchess
In the olden days when hippies walked the earth it was fashionable to name children very weirdly. One friend called her little girl Lavender Blue but worse..another called her son Sunshine Sunshine is now in his 40's, is an accountant called Andrew I feel a bit sorry for the Beckham's son called Romeo, what were they thinking? That is pretty grim, maybe she named him after a relative? A few years back it was fashionable to name babies with 'old fashioned' names Arthur, George etc., which I can sort of live with, but girls were called Dorothy and Maud nice enough names for chickens but not for little girls Tessa
Guest
I like old fashioned names! I can see that there will be a lot of, "Oh, ok....erm, what a nice name ", come March and the baby makes its forum debut..!!
