The Dogmother
Me too Christian, then we'd spend all the afternoon lessons, dripping wet and steaming by the radiators! 2deg here first thing, but beautiful now.
Cinnamon
Its glorious here too, but icy cold
Ana's flock
Can I put in an order for a foot-deep layer, to fall silently and beautifully on Friday night, last until Monday morning and then vanish, please? My kids have never seen snow that was more than an inch deep or lasted more than two hours. We would have to go to the local 'artificial real snow ski slope' place if we wanted to play in snow. It would probably be cheaper and more environmentally friendly to fly to Greenland. I'm going to place my snow order for Milton Keynes, I'll see what I can do about Leeds too. Ain't Nobody Here
It's freezing here - heavy snow forecast for Sunday and a few flurries already. Also been blowing a gale for days . And, guess what, my boiler's broken down again . At least the engineer's coming this afternoon so fingers crossed.
Christian
Oh no! Not what you need at the best of times ANH but not now with snow forecast! Hope it is sorted soon.
One Man Banned
Oh dear, those damned boilers. It's vile here this morning, blowing a gale and throwing rain down too. Just checked BBC Weather site and we have light snow showers tomorrow so that should mean chaos on Crikley Hill as it will certainly snow there A xx
ali-s
Horizontal snow blizzard showers here The weather station is registering 1.2oc. Woke up this morning to snail (snow and hail) battering the bedroom window and the roof slates were rattling. I have just been to put the bins out and found the trampoline upside down at the bottom of the garden. It is crushing all my strawberry plants and blueberry bushes It is too windy to move by myself The greenhouse is wrecked, the door is lying on the lawn. The staging, pots etc are scattered inside. The sky is a strange yellow colour The sky out at sea is black as night Hope you get the boiler fixed soon ANH, this is not the time to be without it. The Dogmother
Gales and horizontal rain here all night and trees down everywhere. Warm though - about 6 deg at the moment.
chickencam
Gales and rain here too. I had to laugh when i saw the cats faces as they ran outside this morning, they turned tail and came straight back in and the chickens didn't look too impressed either

Guest
It horrible here - our power went out at 7:30 this morning, after a night of howling gales. So, I decided to head up to Edinburgh with the children, to my parents, rather than risk spending the day in a cold house with no power. Headed off onto the A1, and hit a blizzard about 10 miles from the house, so we had to turn back, in white-out conditions. Eventually got home, the power has just gone back on, but the snow is falling thick and fast. Chookiehubbie is in Edinburgh at work, so I imagine he'll be staying at his mums tonight..... Lesley
I hope your power stays on Shona - and that your boiler is soon mended ANH. It's really windy here as well and we have more trees down. Carl has had to rescue the pig arc again - it has battered some of the fencing and was on it's end and ready to take off again I've just found Tom cat asleep on my side of the unmade bed - he must have come through the open bedroom window I hope he's taken his fleas out with him
Jules.
We might have snow here soon!
Jules.
It's really windy here now. My dad has just called & as he was leaving he told us the double wooden gates leading to the driveway at the side of the house had blown open- they are bolted and padlocked I shouted " the chickens are in the garden" thinking that they had escaped. They hadn't, they are much too clever to leave me, & in fact were pottering about on the grass ( I can't call it a lawn)
Yorkshire Pudding
Mine are mud-bathing under the hedge. Normally it would be dust, but not in this weather It's raining sideways and the bird table (which I had weighted down even more after the wind last week) is on its side again. The Dogmother
After a brief respite from the gales and stair-rodding rain, it has started again. Theer are trees down just up from the office!
feemcg
Heavy snow showers here, off and on, OH has had 4 power cuts this morning at Abington, he's on his way to Lanark to pick up stuff for work but might need to turn back. I'm just in from a funeral - nearly got blown off my feet at the crem, why do they build these places in the bleakest, remote spots, it just adds to the sadness
