little chickadee
I am lucky enough to own two wonderful original works of art. One by a lovely friend Kate (I got her together with her husband when she was 16) I saw it and completely fell in love. It catches the light in amazing ways and has lots of stitching/ metal leaf. We were lucky to buy it before she gave up her day job and started charging proper money for her work. ( www.meatychunks.co.uk ) We've got another one by one of my friend's husbands which is inspired by being drunk in Norwich I think! I saw it when we went round to my friends house and my husband secretly bought it for my Christmas present one year. Anyone else got any originals? Scooby
They are brilliant aren't they. I especially like the one with the lighthouse but that's probably because when I buy art I go for the boldest colours. I own four pieces of original art by the american pop artist Peter Max. Well, I'm waiting for 2 of them to be delivered. Sorry, can't post pic, haven't found out how to do that yet - hubby supposed to be showing me one day when he's got time

Cate in NZ
I love that Snowy . What a great idea. The only original artwork I have is the children's masterpieces, as Lesley says they're priceless (to me ). Oh and my little sister dabbled in silk screen printing for a while so I've got a couple of tiny pieces by her framed.

Ain't Nobody Here
I have three (not exactly da Vinci's but still ...). My brother gave me a few by a friend of his (who I never liked so it lives in the downstairs loo ). He also got him to paint the outside of our flat - he painted the wrong one . Here's one: This came from a guy selling paintings on Princes Street in Edinburgh: And this I won in a raffle (made by a woman whose daughter was in my son's class):
hillfamily
No one famous - just my own pieces............a few years ago I made myself find the time to go back to painting All large Abstract pieces - I did Art at O level at school and thoroughly loved it when my imagination was allowed to roam into it's own little abstract world. I did pose a problem with my final piece - it was so big that the school had a problem sending it away to be marked Snowy, i love your children's art work. How lovely to frame the pics
The Dogmother
I used to have some of my artwork around the house (I did a fine art degree) but got sick of looking at it and it's wrapped up somewhere. I have some of Phil's work somewhere too. My fridge door has some of Rosie's originals on it, like Snowy's wall.... bet you're glad he didn't paint it directly on the wall Snowy
