Guest
i can't believe we've gone from this... to this... to this, in 4 months! Ian has just finished extending the run for when Bea arrives, we bought a new dog kennel in the end as a temporary home for her and sectioned off the run with some netting. She's not here yet but I'll let you know when she is Edited February 10, 2008 by Guest

(though now may be the time to strike as hes afeeling a bit guilty) It looks fabulous and doesnt seem to have an impact on the size of your garden but is actually really big

Guest
*******update********** we picked Bea up from Adele at around 1pm today. She went straight into the kennel but was chattering away with the girls. Our girls seem a bit confused and Maud did some Bok bokking but some meal worms and mixed corn soon sorted that out. Bea's had some meal worms and some water but hasn't ventured out of the kennel/coop properly yet but she's eating, drinking and chattering so it's all good so far Will try and get some pics tomorrow. Guest
How did this come about? here you go. http://club.omlet.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18868&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 Since we got our girls, we've kept in touch with Adele, sending photos and updates etc and when she decided she needed to re-home Bea, she said she thought of us, which was lovely Bea is adorable, can't wait to see her in the morning
Guest
That's great Poet, I didn't realise you were getting Bea so soon Tessa Adele wanted to re-home her asap so DH has worked like a Trojan (again) to get the extension done. Because she's disabled, she can't be mixed with Adele's hens as she has a cockerel so she asked us, we were more than happy to give her a home

Guest
just been to put them all to bed, our girls were tucked up in their coop as per usual but I couldn't see Bea anywhere in her coop! She'd come out and tucked herself between the coop and the mesh, right where the chimnea is, in the corner! ahhhhhh Picked her up gently and popped her inside. Little sweetheart, she didn't bat an eyelid

Carol U
Well done Poet! Can't wait to see the pictures. At the rate your run is expanding, have you thought about giving the hens your house and you and OH camping in the garden? Having said that, we're starting our new extended run tomorrow! chelsea
Love the run, it looks so neat and tidy, AND you STILL have grass!!
Guest
well carol, DH did suggest we just put a roof on the garden instead chelsea, we still have grass, only just! The damage is mainly due to DH walking on it when it's wet though. Hopefully it'll recover now the weather is getting better

The Bantam of the Opera
good for you poet! i think its wonderful when animals are given another chance and i think its wonderful that you can give such brilliant care to all those poor ex-batts. ive also taken in my fair share of animals. there was my very fat viscous rat called sandwich who was abaonded outside a vets, a likewise viscous cocketiel i found in a bush across the road from me and my dear pudding who i haev now. hes a cockerel with a bad foot and some balance issues , but i love him all the same
