feemcg
My girls usually give me 7/8 eggs a day, and there's been a couple of 9 egg days. I went out this morning and there was already 8 in the cube nest, then throughout the day another 3 (and all during heavy hail showers, thunder and me cleaning out!). Blackrocksrock
They look wonderful - 11 eggs - gosh I had 14 in my egg boxes to-day - used 4 and gave 2 away - need to hoard them again
Cinnamon
They look gorgeous Fee. Is there anything as lovely as a perfect, fresh egg? Why does my 'dark brown' layer lay just normal eggs & not the deep brown that your one is - I am jealous!
ubereglu
Wow Fee! I have to save in order to get that many eggs! What do you do with them all?
feemcg
No poo'ey nest today either so I didn't have to clean any. The colour of the blue's didn't come out very well because of the flash, and believe it or not, the bottom brown one and middle brown one are almost the same colour - again, must be the flash. I'll need to try and take one in natural daylight. I've got lovely mixed boxes for my Hen Party guests - I like everyone to get a dark brown and a blue. OH sells a couple of boxes at work each week and a couple of neighbours get free boxes. I've just got a little metal sign that I'm thinking about putting on my gate on the days I've got a couple of spare boxes sitting.

Ain't Nobody Here
What a lovely selection, Fee . Oh no, now I've got a dilemma . I wanted a blue egg layer but those dark eggs are gorgeous and the Wheaten Marans are so pretty. I only have room for one more hen. I only have room for one more hen. I only have room for one more hen.

feemcg
Mmmmm...why don't you secretly buy it, then say I had it lying around and don't need it any more, so you popped over to mine and picked it up, or......I'll buy it, get it delivered, you come over and give me the cash , see, there's always a way

AJuff
2, 2, 2 yes you need two new hens. A blue and a dark brown egg layer. There's a run extension on ebay at the moment. Also when OH gets round to building the run I'll be getting rid of mine!
Ain't Nobody Here
Will you lot stop it . I'm excited enough as it is . (I've been trying to work out how my borrowed rabbit run will make up into an introduction run but can't do it . So maybe the solution is an extention . Five chickens = too many eggs = selling them at work to pay for it .) PS I can't find the extension on Ebay .
Christian
Lovely looking eggs Fee! Why does my 'dark brown' layer lay just normal eggs & not the deep brown that your one is - I am jealous! Even with six hens I only get enough for my son to give his teacher a box each week and an egg lunch for the family on a weekend!
