Rona
Well I'm sorry to moan but early May should be perfect time to garden but its too blinking HOT and I hate the heat! I am trying to build 2 pergolas, clear up the front garden and generally re-landscape the back but have been indoors ironing as its too hot to do anything outdoors. Anyone else like me and get really grumpy when everyone else is saying "Oh isn't it lovely weather". Its probably my West Coast of Scotland acclimitisation(?) coming out but I don't expect to feel this uncomfortable until July/August. Guest
it's very muggy isn't it like trying to breathe through a piece of material I think we're about to have a downpour as we've had quite a bit of thunder.
Janty
I much prefer cold holidays to hot holidays. I wilted in Rome but was in my element in Lapland.
Chickvic
I'm exactly the same! Give me the cold any day. I hate the heat, and I'm not ironing till later because it's too hot now! We're going on holiday in a few weeks to Cornwall and the heat is just about bearable because we get a good sea breeze but in August we're going to Bude and I'm going to boil! We're going in August because my mom and dad are taking us away (and brothers family and sisters family) as they're celebrating 30th anniversary! I'll be lying down in the shade with something cold to drink...that doesn't sound to bad actually DH will have to run round after kids...this is getting better and better... Mrs Frugal
I don't do hot either so we were at the allotment planting things just after 8am this morning while it was still cool. I can't cope with heat and end up with swollen ankles as soon as the temperature rises even slightly . Not a good look.
Ana's flock
I don't 'do' heat too well either. I also get swollen ankles and feel grumpy if it's too hot - plus I sunburn quiet easily. What makes it worse is all those people saying: 'oh! I thought you'd love this weather, remind you of home... anyway, you should be used to it!' Well, No! I hated Spanish summers too!, and I never got used to it. That's why I decided to stay in the UK (well, one of the reasons, anyway). My temperature range is between 19 and 25 degrees. I know... a bit of a glasshouse plant...
Tessa the Duchess
This weekend has been very hot, but we really shouldn't complain about it, this may be our only 'summer' Tessa
Cooks
I actually dont normally do the sun, but I have to say since positioning the swining chair in the shady area I am much more at home. I was determined not to go anywhere this weekend (due to me being sure of 1st egg arrival) and I was right, so it's been a great restfull weekend. (well if you can rest when your running around the garden with a first egg in your hands) but it's been great!
Couperwife
well, you are all more than welcome to come up to misty, dull and cold Redcar. I came from 30 odd degrees in Tamworth this morning and its now about 14 degrees and rubbish visibility in redcar. I DONT like it ho hum. cathy x
ali-s
If you don't like the heat you should have come up here for the weekend The weather has been very dissapointing after a very warm week. I have just put the fire on for a wee while and am wearing a fleece top over my tshirt.
redhotchick
Went to the retail park this morning to pick up a book, knew I should be gardening but it gets very busy later. Absolutely had to do the front lawn today. It was such a disgrace. (a jungle of dandelion stalks) Managed to get it done but I was sweltering! It looks lovely now, especially after this rain. I'm red haired and can't tolerate much sun.

Very disappointing indeed up here - the usual weekend and I expect it to warm up tomorrow when we are all at work. Fell asleep this afternoon and so have had a very lazy day

Omletina Kyckling
I'm with those of you who don't like it too hot! I don't think it's been as bad today as yesterday though, at least as the day went on there was a nice breeze. Yesterday was really muggy. I've been chasing the shade all day! hillfamily
Very hot here today - hard to believe just 5 weeks ago I awoke to 3 inches of snow Need to attend to the front garden but it's south facing with no shade - far too hot to work in after mid morning. Will have to wait until Tuesday when I have a free early morning

bronze
It is ridiculously hot here. Annoying as I normally send my kids out rain or shine ut the middle part of the day 10-3ish was just too hot for them so I've had them cluttering up my house bickering. I'm about to go out and work some more on building my run because I just couldnt do it during the day.
Egluntyne
I don't usually "do" hot either, being auburn and freckly, but after last year......
Snowy
I don't usually "do" hot either, being auburn and freckly, but after last year...... That's how I feel Egluntine - just so desperate for some hot sunny days, after our last three camping holidays were a wash out. Anyway we are going camping again in 2 weeks, so don't worry, it will be raining again by then
ubereglu
I know what you mean. I wandered up to the garden centre this afternoon and found it very hot, but that's the only real time I've been outside today as I've been busy revising for my Year 10 mocks. However I did sort out the hens and the garden yesterday thankfully. We had a massive thunder and lightning storm last night. So much so I ended up sleeping on the sofa downstairs as I live in the attic conversion and it was so loud I couldn't get back to sleep. Luckily I woke up before the massive downpour so I could shut the Velux window!!!
nursechick
The weather's been fantastic here in Essex;no complaints. The sun is doing wonders for my veg patch and at last i don't need wellies to wade though the mud to see to the girls, just a couple of weeks ago I was beginning to think it would never stop raining.I hope this is the start of things to come. McChook
I really don't like the heat either! Give me a frosty morning anyday! (Bah, humbug, I know! ). High point of the day is is that my chickens arrive tomorrow!! At last!!
Helly Welly
It's been a very hot day here but i can't help thinking that this means it will be a wet summer again OH decided that we needed a new paddling pool, ended up with an 8ft proper pool and a water slide So OH and DD had a lovely afternoon playing and sunbathing whilst i was tidying up the shed And now my hip is sooo bad that it nearly gave way earlier, i'm confined to my chair now
Ain't Nobody Here
I thought I was the only one who hates the heat . I like warm, still days but hate it when it's too hot - I get hot & sticky and my feet swell up. And I hate sandals ('cos I hate my feet ) and I hate skirts too. And I hate not being able to cover up the wobbly bits with fleeces and jumpers. Rant over . We had one sunny day this week but we've had haar the rest so it's been quite cool .
