Yolky
Hello, I am new to the forum but have wanted to keep chickens for as long as I can remember. After seeing an Eglu a while back I started saving as I thought that, for me, an eglu would be perfect. I am nearly there with the savings so will be ordering soon. I am not sure on colour though. I am afraid I don't really like green and blue so they are both out I am also not sure on pink. Orange - I like this but don't the chickens that live in orange wake earlier because it is bright inside (or is this a good thing in the winter?) Red - I have to say I do love the colour red. Is red a nice vibrant red? Purple - another good colour for me. So I guess for me it is between red and purple. Which do you think looks good and vibrant. Do you have any good pictures of them to sway my choice. Thank you.

urbanchick
If you go to a hen party you'll get to see proper samples of the real thing as well as the colour that the host has.
ali-s
Purple is my favourite colour for an Eglu but it wasn't available when I was looking to buy an Eglu. I have had my red Eglu for 3 years and it is lovely. It is very red and hasn't faded I haven't any recent pictures of the red Eglu as it has been cleaned and packed away ready for our move. welcome to the the forum btw
StephanieSB
Lilac is nice (says the biased one who ordered a lilac cube)! The lilac eglu isn't pictured on the shop page yet, but it exists -- so you could always phone up to order one! You can see the colour via the lilac cube page. WitchHazel
Orange is just fab, it's so....vibrant. I have an orange Cube, and I've just ordered a purple Eglu (as I have some youngsters coming, and need somewhere to accomodate them for the weeks until I can introduce them to the big girls) as I thought that the two would complement each other well. Cinnamon
I have had most of the colours at some stage (not the purple though), & my favourite is the orange. It looks fab in the garden - really cheerful & bright, & glows beautifully inside. I don't think they wake any earlier than with any other colour. Omletina Kyckling
I have a red eglu and I love it, it's a lovely bright red and mine hasn't faded. Have a look at the pictures in my album for photos of it to see the colour....

Znook
Mmm, I was going to go for green mainly because I thought it'll blend in with the rest of the garden but after seeing your orange Eglu Stevie I'm starting to get swayed...
Stevie
Mmm, I was going to go for green mainly because I thought it'll blend in with the rest of the garden but after seeing your orange Eglu Stevie I'm starting to get swayed... I just thought that such a wacky design requires an equally wacky colour and orange suits it perfectly. Why live life in the shade when theres a whole world out there ready to be explored, plundered and then painted orange... ps.Does this blend in enough... Purplemaniacs
We have a purple eglu, it is lovely Sorry not sure how to add a photo. Chrissie
chelsea
we have a purple cube and an orange eglu. I LOVE my eglu and would never part with it - orange is fantastically zesty in the garden. The orange eglu is light inside and even at night we found it was light inside. We chose a purple cube as its a darker colour, as we have noisy hens we picked purple to keep it darker inside for longer. The blue, red and green colours are also dark inside. Pink and lilac would be lighter IMO.
