dancing cloud
Threw it down here till about 9am and then brilliant sunshine. Having moved to one of the driest parts of the country, into a bungalow with a water meter, then tried to grow vegetables (now growing them for chickens ), I'm usually grateful for rain - selfish gardening person that I am . The moving of water from the collecting butt to the storing butts can become an obsession. Did make me smile this morning when the scoffalots all piled out of the residence in their usual scrum and then stood there in the rain with the "What's this? We didn't order this?" look on their little faces . Didn't think to stand out of the rain - half their yard is covered by the carport - just stand there geting wet. Oh dear
hils78
I decided in my wisdom to sleep in the tent with my 5yr old last night She slept till 8am through the tent being blown & rained on. Thing is she always usually gets up well before 7am grrrr little madam. I was desperated for a wee at 6.30am but didn't want to wake her up by getting out of the tent so I just read my new chicken book my mum gave me
Omletina Kyckling
You would not believe it's the same day now. It's absolutely scorching hot with blue skies, nice breeze though - the conservatory is now roasting hot so I've had to open the doors, but of course I'm now on Naughty Chicken duty as they've worked out that's where the cherry tomatoes come from. The day before yesterday I heard a rustling and one was standing on the edge of one of the pots, reaching up, pulling off the tomatoes and another two were standing below hoping to catch any dropped ones!! They are such scamps!
The Dogmother
Mine did something similar this morning. In the rain, and my haste, I'd forgotten to close the gate bewteen the lawn and the patio, so when I got home at lunchtime they were raiding the veggies I couldn't scold them too much as they looked so funny and knew that they were doing wrong
Egluntyne
Pleasantly warm but cloudy here now. There was about an hour of sunshine earlier....the very hour I had a meeting at work.

Cate in NZ
What is it with this weather, we've had relentless rain pretty much ever since I arrived here. That said after loads of rain & misery yesterday this morning is l;ooking dry and bright so far. And it is winter over here
Snowy
At least yours can only get better Kate! I was quite grateful for a bit of rain - it's refilled the water butt nicely. It was empty as the boys had decided to drain it and wash their trucks
Karen & co.
Yesterday I took the children to Hanley to sort out the dreaded school uniform, and it was raining when we arrived, dried up and the sun came out, and then on the way back to the car the biggest rumble of thunder I have heard for ages, and very heavy rain with hail stones it's August Got back home and the painters doing the outside of the house said it had been beautiful, and they had managed to do lots of work We are only 20 minutes from Hanley, not hundreds Karen x

MedusA
It's absolutely siling down here, Great word, "siling!" Not heard it for ages as people down here don't seem to know what it means! I love the word "siling" too. I grew up as a RAF child and moved around a lot. When I lived in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire they knew what I meant but not when I was "daaaan sowf". I decided to take advantage of the sunny spell to hack back the wisteria which is threatening to engulf my outhouse (and my lovely neighbour's extension ). I had just got up the ladder, armed with my secateurs, when the heavens opened! As I couldn't possibly get any wetter, I finished the job and then had a nice hot shower. BeckyBoo
Well we were forecast pouring rain all day yesterday and we had one tiny shower and glorious sunshine all day! It wasn't that warm but it was far better than what was predicted. Today OH's digital barometer (which is the most inaccurate weather measuring device known to man and I'm sure is what the BBC are using to make their forecasts) is pointing at sunshine - as the rain hammers down outside Mrs B
