The Dogmother
Beautiful photos Ali Nothing like that here alas -2 last night and 0.8 at 6am this morning, so not too bad in comparison. No real frost but it is steadily clearing, so I expect the temperature to drop.
Plum
Those photos are amazing. Its positively balmy in Belper. I went out half dressed to let the girls out and didn't feel the cold at all. BBC says its -2 here but no frost. Can't believe how different it is around the country.

Egluntyne
Keep 'em coming! They are beautiful. I've just spent an invigorating hour in the garden, tidying the Eglus and cube. It is sooooooo cold and dry. If you are well wrapped up, it is very pleasant.

Ardene5
Hi everyone Here in well in a well known place near to Blackpool who have a great football team BFC / The Seasiders. The weather yesterday was lovely and sunny if a little cold -1 during the day and a bit colder at night. But today it has been colder still and cloudy. The forecast for this evening around Preesall area is the possibility of freezing fog and the temperature of -5. Sounds like we could have an icy beach tomorrow. How is the weather in the your neck of the woods? Be it near or far around the World we hope that the weather is kind to you for New Years Eve. We wishes you All the very best for The New Year as depending where in the World you are as we will see it in at a different time on New Years Eve. Best wishes for 2009. Chicken Licken
-5.1 in the garden now - hope the chookies are all snuggling together in the eglu tonight. I will be interested to see how cold it is in the morning as the sky is totally clear - I think we may get cooler still - Brrrrr. Rosie is tucking herself into a cosy doggie corner to keep warm. BeckyBoo
Wow! Didn't realise it was THAT cold Better go and shut the chooks in, I normally leave the door open, mind you the daft Brahma boy and the silly Poland girl insist on roosting outside, and there's not much I can do about the boy, might stuff the girl in the house though. I've got a digital thermometer thingy, not sure it's all that accurate but off to check.... Mrs B

Snowy
I've still got two roosting outside! Wonder if I should go and stuff them inside the cube?
BeckyBoo
Well it's on its way to -1 here, positively balmy compared to some of you! I stuffed the Poland in, the Brahma is too big and stroppy for me to handle, I found Dandelion the Buff Orpington outside having a mnidnight snack I'm fairly certain having looked more carefully a few days ago that she is in fact a he (bad hatch that - 4 boys and 1 girl ) which might account for her being outside however, he/she was uncermoniously stuffed in through the egg-port. I shut the doors on them and the new chicks and walked away to much huffing and clucking and "excuse me's" coming from inside Mrs B
Lesley
We have a few that roost outside - they seem fine.
Egluntyne
Just been out and it is minus 4 here again. Brrrr. Police road check just outside the house. Good. The speed that people go up this road is just ridiculous. Edited December 31, 2008 by Guest
