The Weather Thread

Recommended Posts

a few years back I'd have had to go to Cinnamonland to see kites but over the last few years they've gradually been moving this way and now we have them swooping over our gardens. One particularly superb specimen was over Whitley which, if you know your Reading, is one of the less salubrious council estates here...

Same here, really annoyed :x . How can we go from minus temperatures/sun & blue skies to uncomfortably mild, wet, etc eh?

All the aubiose is mucky in the run (the wind made is worse) and hens look thoroughly miserable today.

When they are miserable I am ! *huff* :boohoo:

Yep, saw a kite the other day (Friday) just by junction 11 M4. Had previously seen loads at Marlow, so they are getting nearer to me.

oh, Koojie, they have you in a pincer movement - they're also moving north from the M3/A303 :D

edit: and to think it all started with a few pairs in Wales...

Phil's folks' farm is right on the top of Bledlow Ridge in Radnage - they get kites wheeling past all the time, clearing the carrion from the fields. They are so high that you can see the kites flying below you. 8)

It's really mild here now, but I was told that it's supposed to get cold and freeze again... brilliant, just what we need after all that rain!

Hi everyone

Here in Preesall near Blackpool the weather has been overcast all day.

It has also been a hectic day because at 8.30 we were phoning a vets in St Annes On Sea

to get an appointment for "Baby the hen" who had an other hen fly into her.

We spent 2 hours twice driving to & from the vets. She had ex rays, a splint made and bandaged legs when we collected her this afternoon. She has a shattered knee bone which we are hoping will mend using this method, other wise it is a very expensive operation.

Whilst she was there is did managed to suprise the staff by laying an egg pitty it was not golden because she could have paid her own vet bill :lol:

But she is back home now and what is £143 between friends :!::!:

So how has your day been and what has the weather been like in your neck of the wood where ever in the world you are?

Best regards

Ian , Valerie & Baby the hen

 Goodness - that's a very expensive leg your baby has now! Hope it she's feeling better soon and it mends quickly.

:)
