BeckyBoo
Bit slow on the uptake but have just made a double recipe and split it between five medium sized mugs, and hey presto, pudding for 5 hungry cold children!! ED and her friend walked into Brownies still eating theirs so I happened to mention the "never more than 5 minutes away from chocolate cake" - Brown Owl and Tawny Owl have asked for the recipe! I'm going to add ground almonds next time and cook it for slightly less time as one of them was still slightly gooey and was absolutely DEEELISHHH. So I'm told obviously, I wouldn't eat childrens cakes. Not even chocolate ones! Mrs B
..lay a little egg for me
oooh, Mrs B, how much ground almonds are you going to add? I was thinking of doing that too, and perhaps leaving out the oil as almonds are pretty oily...
Milly
I only just got around to trying this. I think my advice would be to switch the kettle on as you start, otherwise the tea won't be ready to drink by the time the cake is ready! I made it in two small bowls, as I think it would have been too much for any of my mugs. They were perfect at 3 minutes each at 650watts. A small slug of chocolate mint Baileys poured over the top ensured they weren't at all dry...... Milly
Chook n Boo Mum
oh my goodness...I had managed to put this recipe in the recesses of my mine so I could get back on the WW bandwagon....and suddenly here it is , back in my inbox with Choc Baileys on for good measure ! (was that added after cooking, rather than cream or as well as..... ) Sha xx
hillfamily
A small slug of chocolate mint Baileys poured over the top ensured they weren't at all dry...... Milly now that's just naughty
Milly
The Baileys was added after baking, while still hot. Absolutely unneccessary, only to use it up, you understand Milly
carrie
Absolutely delicious, I skipped the tea though and had it with extra thick double cream and a large glass of wine. I needed it (honestly) I have just burned a hole in my carpet, wood jumped out of my wood burner!!!! I shall have to pass this recipe on, though I don't think I will be thanked for it! Happy chickens!
Now what's a girl to do - I've not long posted about joining the healthy eaters, and now I've found the devil's forum Cake in 5 minutes? How can you!!!!!!! Suppose I could teach the children tomorrow, and just try a little, that wouldn't hurt now would it?
Lesley
Hi HC - just seen you over in Healthy Chat....... Def. cook it, with children to help........and let them eat most of it!! That way, you get to try it but don't eat the whole thing Psssssttt - there is also a Chocolate Mug Brownie recipe somewhere.......
carrie
Oooh Chocolate mug brownie recipe, where's that Lesley?
Happy chickens!
Kids were in heaven! Only ate a little bit myself.....yum Used melted butter instead of oil as only had olive, and a bit more milk so was nice and moist. Thanks for recipe. Am not even going to look at chocolate brownie thread. (Must be strong, must be strong. )
Lesley
Oooh Chocolate mug brownie recipe, where's that Lesley? I bumped it up for you the other day....... It's still on this page......
ChookieCaz
Just tried this in one of the children's giant cups, with three instead of four spoons of sugar, but still with the chocolate chips and it is nice. Pity I've run out of cocoa powder, otherwise I could have tried again. I think the next one would be better as I stopped this one part-way through. I've cut it in four portions to share with the family.
Millihelen
Oh no! Who has bumped this thread? - I have been trying to ignore it. However , you might just have saved my evenings. My 5ft 10in thin-as-a-rake 14yr son is always hungry in the evening. As in 6 puddings hungry ... If I could just teach him (and his 15yr brother who eats 3 bowls of breakfast cereal most evenings) to make it himself... then I could sit down and watch CSI in peace! Chook n Boo Mum
If my 9yr old DD can do it, those hulking great boys can......! Sha x
iar fach goch
Made this to cheer up a poorly little boy this afternoon, brought a smile to his face when cake got stuck to top of microwave! Shared first attempt between me and 3 boys, then OH comes in and devours a whole one with ice cream! Will definately be making again - but very dangerous, only ever 5 mins away from a chocolate cake! ChrisP
Ooooh this is a dangerous recipe! Definately one I'll be taking to uni! Why can we make cake so quickly and simply?!
Valkyrie
How did I miss this delightful yummy posting? I have just been looking at and reading about mooncakes and fridge cakes - all chocolatey - and find heaven a bit further down! OH watching footie. That's it then, I'm off to have a go. If it works out OK then I'll do another for DD who cooked dinner for us in between her work shifts (well it was a fry-up but it was a very nice cholesterol special). Yummmmmmm. I did mine for just under 3 minutes, a little too dry at the bottom, so did it for a few seconds too long - easily sorted - add cream! There was rather a lot for just me, so gave up and shared it with OH. And I licked the mixing spoon too - yummmmmm!
