Old Speckled Hen
My sister and I are not close. We have little in common apart from our genes. Our lives diverged fairly early though we have always retained sibling love. All that distance apart we managed to conceive, late in life, at about the same time ... weird ! We discussed baby's names but neither of us would divulge any. I got a phone call one night at 2am from my Brother in law to say my sister had had a boy and his name was Christopher. OK roll over go to sleep, night night. 7am he rings to say my sister had a boy at 2am. Stop!! I said, " we've already done this .. you woke me up in the middle of the night to tell me. Silence You told me his name is Chris Silence. Weird or what???
MedusA
Wow! That is spooky! My Mum has premonition dreams about things like murders or disasters which are then on the news. I find it a bit grim to be honest. I don't have premonitions, but DD and I do seem to have a sort of telepathy such as saying the same thing out of the blue or one of us will start whistling a song that the other was just thinking in their head. Cinnamon
Yes,I have had weird things happen to me like that too. I used to think that I must phone my Mum,then literally a couple of minutes later she would phone me. This happened numerous times (& saved me a fortune in phone bills!) I was also close to my late sister in law & knew once when she was in danger. And I once almost refused to board a plane because I thought there would be a problem. When we came in to land there was already another plane on the runway,so we touched down, then accelerated & went straight back up again. Terrifying, but luckily we were all safe I couldn't predict the sex of my children though. I was so convinced that they were both boys that I bought boy clothes & even boy nappies,& only had boy names ready for them. Typical to be outwitted by your own children
Seagazer
I used to get more when I was a child. Once I dreamt about my birthday and the card my mum and dad bought me. When it came to my birthday it was exactly the same but bigger, that was wierd. I often think of people and then they ring.
Ain't Nobody Here
OH was out with a friend of ours once (our best man). I was doing the ironing as OH came in the house, and just knew before he walked in that he and his wife were splitting up . There had been no warning of this beforehand. Joojoo
I had a horrendous nightmare once which involved a bomb going off in the office block where I work and the name "bin laden" being mentioned. Ashley was only 8 at the time, and I can remember frantically trying to get home to him to make sure he was ok. I can still vividly remember it and told a couple of people at work about it the next day. The following week was September 11th 2001. I've never forgotten it and it has just brought me out in goosebumps typing it

Guest
Did you know there is a church very near the twin towers in which the clergy hold weekly prayer meetings. Just before 9/11, they were gathered together in silence. When they spoke, several of them had the feeling that there would be a disaster and they should gather medical kits, camp beds, tents etc. Amazingly they acted on this and so were well prepared to help out on that dreadful Monday. I have had premonitions as a child. I also seem to have a knack of knowing/guessing before I'm told. My mother is more psychic though. We used to visit her sister who didn't have a phone. We'd get in the car and drive down (an hour's journey) and my aunt somehow knew we were coming and had make cakes in preparation!
Scramble
That has completly happened to me. It's weird!!! I'll sat something and my mum'll go ' I was just thinking that!' But I'll never forget the time I had this dream where me and my best friend had a sleepover (honestly who dreams about going to sleep? ) anyway, in my dream we woke up the next morning and my friend suddenly had a fringe and was screaming that her bro had cut her hair as joke! I was so shocked we she came into school the next with a fringe She was all 'what, don't you like it?' when I just stared at it. Sometimes I scare myself, but that's not just from weird premonitions, it's mostly just when I look in the mirror in the mornings. x

Helly Welly
When i was younger i was walking down a steep hill with my Mum. Two cyclists were coming uo the hill and i could hear a car coming down the hill behind me. I just had this sudden image of the car swerving into the path of the cyclists. Then, it did!!But it was because the car driver knew them and not because he was going to run them over!! Still, gave me the willies

The Dogmother
I do it all the time they'll be tying me to the dunking stool next! I knew when my Nonno died (I was 9) before anyone else knew. I also knew (when my Dad was working abroad) that he was caught up in a coup in Nigeria and was in danger. There are countless other examples. Like some of you, I also have strong links with some people special to me.... one in particular, who for various reasons isn't in my life these days, is always with me. Sometimes I can tell what they are feeling. When we were still in contact, I'd sometimes email asking what had just happened as I'd had a very strong 'feeling' about them. My Nonna was the same. My great aunt died yesterday, aged 94 and after a long illness, so not unexpected, but I just knew and rang my mother, who was just about to call and tell me. I can see that Rosie (at 10 years) has the same intuition although I haven't talked to her about it.
dancing cloud
Clearest example I can remember was at university when there was a ballot for rooms on campus in the third year. The night before in my mind's eye I saw the list with numbers to the left of the names and I was on it at 47. Stupidly, I shared this with the girls I lived with . The next day the list went up, with my name on it but no numbers. One of the others counted down and my name was 47th - she was very, very freaked! I learned not to share ... If I dream about family/friends, it usually means they need me for some reason and I try to ring them the next day. Otherwise, I generally get "information" when I am tired or ill - probaby when the conscious mind isn't blocking it so well. It's not something I can control or access at will. I am a woman living on my own, I have cats, I have chickens, I still don't share ...
Mrs Webmuppet
I have had a few premenitions. The two that stand out are: I was driving home from work one evening and as I turned a corner, I had a feeling that something was going to happen that would be of huge national importance and that it would be very sad. When I got home I checked every newschannel etc. Nothing. I went to be and got woken later by the OH (who had been out ) to be told that Princess Di had been killed in a car crash in Paris .........his face was a picture when I said ' ah so that's what it was' It took some explaining! The other was a long and detailed one involving a house (a very unusual styled house at that) . I was about eight or nine at the time. When I was 17 (and living in a different town) I was invited round to a friends, when I arrived it was the house I had'seen' all those years before and even more spooky the layout was as I had'seen' it. I got some very funny looks when I went to the loo 'cause I never asked where it was. It was really weird as I knew where everything was (right down to which cupboard the coffee was in). Aga n Chickens
I'm not a confident driver, and some years ago when my OH changed his car he wanted me to have a go and see if I felt any different in the new model. We set off for the garden centre and I kept asking him if I was in the correct lane and on the right road. Trying to be supportive he just said "I'll leave it to you and see how you go" Things were going well, I was on the right road and only a motorcycle was in front of me so I took it steady and followed him. OH said nothing as I followed the bike. On a bend the rider skidded and came off the bike I was able to pull over and give assistance (many years experience with the SJAB) while OH call 999 on his mobile. Unknown to anyone the road had recently been resurfaced and the bike just lost its grip. Once I knew the rider was in safe hands I got back behind the wheel and OH said "OK where are we now" "On the way to the garden centre", he then said "We passed it 2 miles back, but I thought that I would just let you keep going and see where we ended up" I must have been in a trance, somehow knowing that something was going to happen, and if I hadn't been there at the time to administer first aid goodness knows what would have happened to the rider. The incident never improved my driving confidence. Christine
LisaP
I often get 'feelings', the most memorable being in 1984. We had a very bad car crash (caused by a drunk driver ) - just knew before we set off that something was going to happen but didn't know what I very often know that my OH is about to phone me and equally I've known twice that he's had a motorbike accident before he's called me to tell me I generally pick up on things when one of my children has hurt themselves and am not surprised when I collect them from school and find out they had fallen over or such like. But the best premonition of all has to be by my ES, during dinner one day he said something about the new baby I was having - I didn't even know I was pregnant with no 3 at that point I'm sure he had some sort of psychic ability when he was younger because he used to talk to imaginary friends too but now he's 17 it's long gone Lisa P

little chickadee
Nothing so impressive I'm afraid, but I always seemed to know when my best friend was about to phone when I was a teenager. I think that my OH is more tuned into such things.
Valkyrie
Before I was born, mum was driving and suddenly pulled over and stopped her car refusing to go on, much to the annoyance of my dad and her parents. Then a car came round the corner from the opposite direction and on the wrong side of the road. Spooky.

jackiepoppies
I always 'knew' that it would be wrong for my 2 eldest sons to have a motorbike. Because of this I bargained with them and bought them their 1st cars if they didn't have motorbikes. Fine, until ES joined the T.A. They persuaded him he needed his motorbike licence. He got the bug for a bike and within 6 months ended up in a wheelchair, paralysed from the chest down. Not his fault [car pulled out on him] . I hope that it sets OK, Karen. Thank you he will need a general anaesthetic in about 10 days, he doesn't want it done at the moment (I think he is worried about the GA ) , but it is rather mashed One postive is that he will be off the pitch for 4 weeks Karen x
