Egluntyne
Anyone watch this on BBC2 last night? Absolutely fascinating. Had me hooked from the off. First of six.
Lesley
Yes, thanks to Kate who told me she was just off to watch it! I'd been occupied with burst pipes and flooding and would have missed it. It looks as if it's going to be just as good as Tales from Green Valley - with three of the same presenters. We really enjoyed it.
susanbb
When's it next on so I can time it please?

Guest
It's being repeated on Saturday. I missed it too but I am just recording it from iPlayer. I am really keen to watch it as I have a lot of ancestors (like everyone else!) who were agricultural labourers and farmers. It will help bring the whole life-style alive. surferdog
Watching this and also 'A Farm Life' which is about a current day organic farm. If you have Sky it's well worth a look (Animal Planet 7pm weekdays), even has DD hooked although I now have serious lifestyle envy http://www.discoverychannel.co.uk/web/animalplanet/farm-life/
crazygal
Yes- I watched this. It was very informative, didn't know much about cooking on coal, and it was interesting about the height of wheat now being much shorter- didn't know that. Wonder if there will be much on poultry next week?
Cinnamon
It was good, wasn't it? I lusted after that farm & cottage with all the outbuilding & tools in the sheds. I am looking forward to them keeping chickens too

ali-s
I really enjoyed watching Victorian Farm. The range was superb. I was surprised to see our range in their cottage Theirs was the broken and rusted one which they took out. Ours is in perfect condition. It is in my bedroom which once apon a time was cottage number 3. Unfortunately ours is hidden behind a piece of chipboard I have a couple of photos of it if anyone is interested. I seem to have ordered the book which goes with the series and will be on the lookout for the DVD.
Rhapsody
I watched it on i-player, really found it interesting (their cottage was frankly much nicer than the Dashed Awful farmhouse I live in) but I was irritated by them dressing up as Victorians, made it a bit theme park for me. miffy
we really enjoyed the program . I was a bit concerned to see them chipping the old lime plaster off, grinding it up and re doing the lime plaster with minimal H&S equipment I thought it was v dangerous to breath thr powder in... guess I was wrong
Guest
Its on now and James is engrossed. He has been chattering 19 to the dozen all day and now is totally silent as he watches this. Unlike the Anne Frank programme it doesn't need vurther explanation so he isn't even asking me questions! Which explains why he is still up at this time of night, if he is quietly enjoying something I won't push him up to bed even though I know he will be tired.
