Victorian Farm

Recommended Posts

Yes, thanks to Kate who told me she was just off to watch it!

I'd been occupied with burst pipes and flooding and would have missed it.

It looks as if it's going to be just as good as Tales from Green Valley - with three of the same presenters. We really enjoyed it.

Victorian Farm, produced by Lion Television, begins on Thursday 8 Jan and will be shown over six weeks on BBC2 at 9pm.

Check out BBC i player for missed episodes

What a fantastic new series, :D:D My OH was drooling at the reconditioned range they installed

Can't wait for the next one

It's being repeated on Saturday.

I missed it too but I am just recording it from iPlayer. I am really keen to watch it as I have a lot of ancestors (like everyone else!) who were agricultural labourers and farmers. It will help bring the whole life-style alive. :D

I really enjoyed watching Victorian Farm.

The range was superb. I was surprised to see our range in their cottage 8) Theirs was the broken and rusted one which they took out. Ours is in perfect condition. It is in my bedroom which once apon a time was cottage number 3. Unfortunately ours is hidden behind a piece of chipboard 8):(

I have a couple of photos of it if anyone is interested.

I seem to have ordered the book which goes with the series :lol: and will be on the lookout for the DVD.

Yes- I watched this.

It was very informative, didn't know much about cooking on coal, and it was interesting about the height of wheat now being much shorter- didn't know that.

Wonder if there will be much on poultry next week?

but the ear of 'wheat' he was looking at was actually barley!

Its on now and James is engrossed.

He has been chattering 19 to the dozen all day and now is totally silent as he watches this. Unlike the Anne Frank programme it doesn't need vurther explanation so he isn't even asking me questions! Which explains why he is still up at this time of night, if he is quietly enjoying something I won't push him up to bed even though I know he will be tired.
