Ain't Nobody Here

I'm back!!

Recommended Posts

I'm off to the Lakes on Monday for school camp. We're going with 16 autistic/Aspergers kids to Calvert Trust on Lake Bassenthwaite near Keswick :) .

If you see two white minibuses, one with a trailer, give us a wave (I might well be driving one of them, so probably won't wave back - I'll be the one with white knuckles on the steering wheel :anxious: ).

Bit of abseiling, canoeing, abandoned mine exploring, archery, hill walking and all my food cooked for me - just what I need at the moment (no, really, it really is just what I need at the moment  ).

I'll miss you all :( . I'll be having severe withdrawal symptoms by next Friday :( .

Have a great time- Alexander went to the Cumbrian Christian Youth Camp alongside Bassenthwaite last summer. I don't know what the field he stayed in was called- but it did have a building which had a hall, proper toilets & showers

However, I'm presuming you're not under canvas this time of year like he was ......

The first 3 are my idea of hell on earth - height and water; archery, and hill walking, brill!

Have a wonderful time, and try to relax, difficult with 16 kids, but try anyway!

You really are such a good person.

The children are obviously going to have a fantastic time and an opportunity they probably wouldn't get if it wasn't for people like you.

Have a great time yourself and remember - there's no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing. :D

I'm sure you'll have a fab time. Calvert Trust is a fantastic outward bound place and they are so accommodating and understanding of kids needs. As they put it - as long as you tell us, we can deal with it. They just don't like it when a kid does a runner on the hills and they weren't expecting it and someone says "oh he's always doing that"!

I went there 14 months ago and it was brilliant!

Enjoy.

:D
