Sheilaz
I'm really disapointed, I can't come now . I've been ill for some time but thought I'd be better by then. Unfortunately I've just been diagnosed with M.E. and only able to drive a few miles. My life is totally messed up at the moment. I was really looking forward to the Craft (coffee & cake) weekend Sorry to hear that Kez, it's rotten feeling so rough & missing things. It's good you have a diagnosis, & accepting it is a big step in the right direction. Just wishing you all the best in a graduated recovery. Meanwhile, although you can't meet up, perhaps you'll enjoy sharing some craft ideas, I hope so.

The Dogmother
I'm enthusiastic rather than skilled on the craft front however will pop in to say hi and bring cake one one of the days Me too, I don't get time to do many crafty things nowadays, but would love to pop by with Rosie on the Sunday. Will bring cake and help out with refreshments if that's OK.
Omletina Kyckling
I'm just bumping this up as a reminder as we are only about 6 weeks away! So far I have confirmations from: Snowy Howells Tulip Lauramurf Claret Rosie A chickychickychick-Enn Redwing Fizzleknit Egluntine Anybody else coming? If you are can you let me know what you might want to do on the day, what crafts you already do, whether you are bringing a tent or want a bed/sofa/floor, when you hope to arrive/leave and if you have a mobile number and are happy to let me have it......in true Omletina style, I have made a spreadsheet up with who/what/where/when.... None of this is cast in stone, it's just to give me an idea of numbers for days/nights etc.... My Swedish friends are coming for a week and coming on the Saturday as they want to join in! I also have a friend in the WI who is lovely and a knitter extraordinaire and I've asked her to come along to help anybody out who might want to knit (her cakes have to be tasted to be believed too!!) The Dogmother
It is now looking as if we will be making only a fleeting visit I'm afraid I gave Phil a 4X4 experience thingy at Silverstone for his 50th and have been nagging him ever since to book it. He's left it so late that this now looks like the only weekend that he can do it! Rosie and I are going to Walking With Dinosaurs on the Saturday, and he has booked this for the Sunday. I am really hacked off that he has been so slack and disrupted the plans! The plus side is that we will be even nearer to you, so will come over afterwards if that is OK. laurmurf
I'm just bumping this up as a reminder as we are only about 6 weeks away! I can knit - used to do baby arans, circular nordic, patterned kids jumpers but have never knit socks I used to do some embroidery and crewel, and USED to know basic stitches and I used to know how to crochet and would like to remember I am VERY BAD at finishing knitting projects (knit all the pieces but never sew them up... start a jumper for a baby and the child's in secondary school before finishing ) YD is a beginner at everything (her sole accomplishment is starting a cat blanket but it would have to be a teeny weeny cat. She's v v good at photoshop, if anyone wants to learn other types of craft skills! I've never learned how to ice cakes - but would love to. (saw the most wonderful wedding cake today - the bride and groom were a hen and cockerel! ) I've love to learn to make felt, quilt, spin and weave and lots and lots of other things! I'm coming with YD (ED has to work ) and we'll bring a tent - okay? We'll come on Saturday, late morning and we'll head off on Sunday afternoon. I'll PM my mobile number, Diane. really looking forward to Omletstock

laurmurf
omg NOO! I really don't know how to do very much, I just do the easy stuff and follow instructions and make very small items that i have a chance of actually finishing I'm a starter of many projects and I lurve to buy wool but just about never finish anything. I always feel so inadequate when I read about the crafty people on the forum !
A chickychickychick-ENN!!
Oh Laurmurf, you can read patterns! I can't read patterns, but I do buy wool all the time. I like to see it in my big basket. The rules of crafty weekend: The first rule of crafty weekend is you don't talk about crafty weekend. Oh no - hang on, that's Fight Club. The first rule of crafty weekend is we do not feel inadequate about our talents. Crafty goodness is for everyone. Yay!!!

Ms Marple
I am really sorry but I have to pull out having said yes all those months ago. Some very good friends of ours have just sprung upon us the fact that they are going to get married and the date is Aug 15th!! Iam obviously really pleased for them but sad as I was looking forward to meeting some Omleteers from all over I think it might be too far to come down to Oxford from Marple on the Sunday especially if you are all hung over after Cathy's wine!!!!! A chickychickychick-ENN!!
Me too Ms Marple - in STOKE! We live in Kent. Gah! Dang almost-northerners, springing their civil ceremonies! Omletina, I'm definitely coming for the Saturday and staying over in my tent, but I may have to shoot on the Sunday for the wedding. Still firming up details. Is that ok? Omletina Kyckling
Ms Marple, sorry you can't make it but I understand entirely!! A chickychickychick-ENN!! - no worries about leaving early on Sunday.... I don't mind how people come and go, or even if they can only pop in for a short time! I'm just offering the house and garden for all you crafty, and non-crafty people to come and meet up and do some craft if you want to!! It'll be nice to put names to faces!!
