Egluntyne
I can't remember when I last saw a sight quite so hideous as the half naked geriatric with waist length hair in the Swiftcover insurance ad. Turns out it is Iggy Pop. I'd post a link but don't want to offend. Nothing would induce me to use that insurance company now.
clootie
He's always looked like that poor guy !!
Cinnamon
He has, & I do love his music, but feel he has really sold out by doing this ad
Tessa the Duchess
I saw this ad a couple of nights ago and did a double take Does he really need money that much, I would have thought he was mega rich. After seeing Jonny Rotton advertising butter I thought 'celebs' couldn't get any lower, but I was wrong Tessa
Janty
I know what you mean about repulsive.
mostin
Why would he choose to advertise insurance? So weird.
Ain't Nobody Here
What made them think that seeing him prancing about half naked would induce us to buy their product . Half the population probably don't even recognise him .
moochoo
I must be the only person who strangly likes it At least he's got his trousers on, unlike some of his gigs! I'm not sure why he was chosen to advertise insurance though, very odd.
Trish
If some ad person thought that Jonny Rotten makes us think butter I guess Iggy must make you think insurance
Redwing
Just googled it Is he so skint he can't afford a shirt? I mentioned this to my husband who said "Oh he never wears anything on his top even though he is five hundred and thirty eight" I take it my OH isn't a fan then. Cinnamon
At least he's got his trousers on, unlike some of his gigs! And at least they are not transparent pvc this time I like Iggy Pop - he is a real proper rock star, I just don't like that he has done this ad

bronze
Am I the only one who knows Iggy Pop as being topless. I don't think I've ever seen him fully clothed. It's part of who he is so presumably they went with that. why insurance though I have no idea.
Snowy
I hadn't a clue who he was, had seen the advert and been a bit bemused by it. I would probably still have been bemused by it if I had known who he was!
Tessa the Duchess
I'm thinking the people who put the ad together are trying to be ironic, Iggy Pop and Insurance Jonny Rotton and clean country living They'll have Amy Winehouse advertising Shake 'n Vac next Tessa
A chickychickychick-ENN!!
Like it, Tessa! I refuse to buy that butter. The Sex Pistols were sell-outs from the start. Malcolm McLaren admits as much. I don't like the insurance ad, but laugh at it in incredulity. Iggy is amazing in a film called Coffee and Cigarettes. He's playing himself but not playing to type. I know that doesn't make sense. Watch it and you'll see. It's a very good film. Quite arty, not much point, but very enjoyable indeed. The Dogmother
He's never been fully clothed in my recollection and has always been as attractive as Amy Winehouse after a Saturday night binge! As my mother would say.. 'that's not big, funny, nor clever!' He does have that dirty ride look though
Aunty e
It makes me want to hurl. I will NEVER buy anything from them for making me look at that.
