I've hurt myself :(

Recommended Posts

Ouch it really hurts. I don't know how but I went flying off the fourth stair from the bottom, on my way downstairs. I couldn't move at first, but I'm now on the settee. My back ached at first - but seems fine now. But the top of my right arm absoutely wrecks. Perhaps I shouldn't be typing, but resting it. But I just wanted a bit of sympathy & to tell you all what a dilly I feel.

I fell UP the stairs once and whacked my arm down on the bannister upright into my armpit, I was bruised there for weeks, try explaining that to your boss why you cant use that arm very well..

you really will benefit from Ibruprofen, it will definately help you. :)

I wish I was having a tipple. I've fell down the stairs about 6 years ago & was saved by the standard lamp in our hall . I still get twinges from that fall, as it was from the top all the way down to our tiled hall floor. You can imagine..the bruises were as big as dinner plates on my bottom.

No crocheting tonight. :( I so wanted to make some granny squares & an amigurumi tomato.

Ouch! it sounds painful.

I fell downstairs on my bum about 20 years ago and now I've started to get a really painful coccyx when I sit for long periods of time... I wish I had it looked at when it happened, perhaps I dislocated it or something... too late now.

So I think it'd be a good idea to have a quick check up at the hospital, just in case you've done some injury. Stairs are nasty things for falls.

Good luck and I hope the pain goes soon.

Big hugs.

one of my falls downstairs was wearing tigger slippers  I did not bounce!

Very funny! I did the same thing - just fell down one step of the stairs, and I was wearing trainers all properly laced up.

I tore a ligament really badly, it's definitely worth getting an X-ray just in case, but even if that reveals nothing, do consider getting some physio - I wished I'd gone sooner. (And don't think 'ouch - the last thing I want is someone pulling me around' because it's not all about that! They can really help with muscle strain and sprains.)

Hi - I was wearing my new crocs, not carrying anything & not rushing. Whats wrong with wanting to crochet a tomato??

Well my lower arm is ok... but my upper arm still wrecks - mainly like my biceps muscle.

Hubby not very sympathetic - he thinks I'm a bit of a looney head in clouds sort.

Going to put a load of tiger balm on it & go bed soon.

hope nothing's broken :? you must have bones of steel!

I fell over from a standing position and broke my arm! I think my bones must be made of glass, mind you, I do have further to fall than most people! ;)

Poor you, hope you are soon less sore  Did you use ice packs? They make such a difference if used quickly enough. We keep the soft gel sort in the freezer all the time.

Falling up or down stairs is one of my specialities, I have little feet and a tendency to rush everywhere, so my OH thinks that I put my feet on the stairs too straight rather than at an angle.

I agree with Olly about physio, I have been having some for the past few weeks for a reccurent back problem which has caused nerve irritation in my arm and my back is better than it has been for years.

:D
