Aunty e
I finally got my mits on a few baby patterns (surprisingly hard to find!) and knocked up a few of these....am going to make some dresses tonight What do you think? I adore them, but I love vintagey baby stuff. They have poppers in the crotch, elasticated legs and poppers down the back. The blue floral one has a ladybird button on the front too, but that picture didn't come out :dohh: Baby would wear a vest underneath them, but I was quite anal about overlocking, so they should all wash in the machine in a delicates bag. Am going to try a couple of dresses tonight as I have some left over raw silk.

Aunty e
Thanks I did spend quite a lot of time on them, especially the top one, as inserting the lace and bias binding was fairly complicated. Worth it in the end though. OH said I should sell them, but I pointed out that "Ooops, word censored!"ody is going to be prepared to pay anything that would adequately compensate me for my time on them (well, unless I sell them in Harrods). I shall make them for me and for my friends, but I'm not making them for some stranger, even if they are paying me.

Aunty e
Made a couple in silk last night and a dress as well and then had to stop and shake myself firmly. Baby does not need to wear silk. Even if it is only £3 a metre from my fave fabric shop. Will post piccies though, as are so DARN cute. Really need to borrow a baby to try them out on. Blackrocksrock
Baby in silk will be wonderful for its skin instead of man made fibres! Lots more photos please

The Dogmother
They take a lot of work, don't they? Rosie had a lot of handmade baby things when she was little. Some of them had been mine, so were over 35 years old! I hope that yours last as long. Any ideas of names for the little 'un?
Aunty e
Oh yes, she's had a name for nearly a month now - she'll be Imogen Margaret. It's a lot nicer being able to refer to her by name, than call her 'the baby' or 'it'. She twiddled around out of breech for the first time in about two months at the weekend, and my bladder tells me that she's a lot bigger than she was last time she was headbutting it We're both very well
ClaireG
What fab rompers, i'm sure Imogen will love them

Aunty e
21 August, so a bit of a wait yet. Mind you, I'm that busy that I suspect it will be August before I know it and I'll be panicking about moving house!
Plum
er, do you really want to move at the same time. crazy woman.
Tulip
They are stunning aunty e, you are so clever. Imogen will be very proud of her mummy - of course she needs to wear silk when you're out and about showing her off! Glad you're both doing well
Aunty e
I love being overcommitted - it brings out the best in me Also, I figure that having packing/unpacking to do will mean that I have less time to be mopey and terrified after Imogen's born. And I'll have six months off work with full pay to sort things out and find a decent childminder...
The Dogmother
I'm the same Aunty e - work best under pressure Good luck with it all.
