Now We Want Sheep! *Pics of our sheep!*

Recommended Posts

The meadow has been mowed, one man and his dog did it :lol::roll:

The new fencing is up and I have started cleaning all the old stuff out of the stables and clearing giant cobwebs

I have registered with Defra

I have an appointment to look at some sheep on Sunday

We are nearly at the culmination of my long held two week long dream :lol::lol:

Wow! - excellent news!

We do shear our Shetlands as the weather often warms up before they shed their fleece - and I want to use the fleece - and we did have one with fly-strike this year when they were sheared, the one who had been confined with her little lamb.

I can't wait to see your sheep!

I went to a BBQ at the local chicken breeders house last night and mentioned our sheep venture as they also have sheep and they mentioned someone in the next village who had two lambs off of them that they have bottlefed and subsequently tried to raise in their garden, they (the sheep!) are now causing havoc as the garden is quite small and the lady is desperate to rehome them to a pet home...

I am going to get some more details later! We have ended up with most of our pets because they were someone elses mistakes or needed rehoming so why not sheep?

I have come to the conclusion that we will have to have whatever sheep we get sheared as a few people have mentioned now that the 'non shear' sheep are not completely self shedding so thanks for confirming that Lesley :D

Not too bad, I found a family of hedgehogs under the old straw in the stables and rehomed them in a chicken nest box full of straw in the hedge so they have their own house now

We have the number of the people who own the two young sheep so will give them a call and go and take a look-see

I bought one sheep today, she is lovely and chose me, she has a super personality and is very gentle - it will be three weeks before she arrives
