Omletina Kyckling
I have a concert tonight and I'm petrified! I sing in our village WI choir, which I love and it's been a new lease of life for me. We had a party a few months ago and after much consumption of wine, I somehow volunteered (or was volunteered, not sure which!) to sing a duet with Wendy, my pal in the choir and to also to play a flute solo.......when I was reminded of this once sober, I couldn't believe it I've not performed a solo since I was at Uni, which is a good 20 years ago, so I'm very nervous now! We're singing "I know him so well" from Chess and I'm playing Dvorak's Humoresque. Think of me tonight, and keep things crossed as I'm not sure I can do it!!! Guest
You will be OK once you are up there and have started - that's what I usually find when I have performance anxiety! These days I just know it will be OK once its underway, and that helps!

Lewis
Good luck Nerves are good, it makes you concentrate on what you're doing to try and make you forget about the nerves, meaning you'll give a better performance Good choice of song

Omletina Kyckling
Thanks for all your lovely comments, it's nice to know I have friends out there supporting me!! Well, I'm home and survived it. It was a fabulous, huge church in Peterborough with wonderful acoustics and we sounded really good in there as a choir. The duet went fine, a few wobbly moments, due to nerves, but otherwise good and lots of people came up to us in the interval and said how lovely it was so that's good. The flute solo also went ok, I fluffed a couple of notes (which I hadn't in any rehearsals or anything!) but "Ooops, word censored!"ody seemed to notice! All in all, a fabulous evening - the audience were wonderful which helped. We've been asked back in September so couldn't have been too bad. Had a bit too much bubbly to celebrate and now need my bed. Tomorrow we record a CD then sing in our church in the evening so I'd better go get some good sleep!!!!
