I am about a third of the way through this book, which I am re reading after first reading it several months ago.

 

It is easily one of my most favourite books , & one that I know I will pick up time & again during my life. It is one of the most amazing books I have ever read & has the ability to suck me into its story.

 

The movie is out very soon too, starring the divine Eric Bana as Henry. I will probably go & see it, as I am curios how they will make it work I am expecting to be disappointed, as I often am by film adaptations of much loved books

I loved this book when I read it first time round. I meant to get it from the library as my copy of the book has long since been passed on (memory so terrible I keep forgetting to go into the library ). I will go and see it with my mum I think as she enjoyed the book as well.

 

I'm looking forward to rereading this though.

I loved this book too- when I saw that it was up for review, the first thing I thought about was the film version...

 

I too wonder about how it will fare as a film.....quite a complex story that will be difficult to transfer.

Ooh, ooh - I haven't joined in Book Group Chat for ages, as I've been too disorganised to get the books in time, but this is one I read last year.

 

I found it quite difficult at first, getting my head round the different times and what was happening, but once I'd got the hang of it I loved this. It's quite a chilling idea really, that you might know the future but only in tiny glimpses, and not be able to control it, and the danger that he was in every time he 'travelled' and ended up somewhere.

 

A really good book - I'm not sure I want to see the film. For a start, I don't know how they will get the time changes across the the audience.

I love this book, I've only read it once but I don't tend to read anything more than once.

It's definitely high on my list of all time favourite books.

Now that you've reminded me, I may take it on holiday to read again.

The book was recommended to me by the librarian at the children's school and I am pleased that she did as I had picked it up and put it down on several occasions prior to that.

 

As someone else said, I found it difficult to work out at first and found it more interesting reading it a second time with the knowledge of how the timings were taking place.

 

I think that it will be a good film (if only because there will be no hardship having an ogle at Eric Bana) to watch with some girlfriends. I can't see OH enjoying it!

I loved this book and really want to read it again. Just need to wait for the right time. It will be interesting to see how they turn it into film. I saw a trailer a few days ago and his drifting out of time looked interesting. Back to the book. I thought it was an interesting way and well written way to tell a love story. She was so good at being in the right places with clothes and food so he didn't have to walk about naked. It was sad when their son started doing to same thing (I hope I got that right - it's been a while, and I may have forgotten bits of it, or remembered things incorrectly). And it made me cry at the end.

I have just started this book. A friend has loaned it to me and has raved about it. Im not really into it yet as I have only read a chapter or two. Good to know its so highly recomended.

Sorry posted before finishing.

I loved this book the first time that I read it. I am often a slow reader unless on holiday as I read in bed and fall asleep and have to reread to remember and fall asleep and....

Anyway, this book gripped me so much that I started reading it on a Friday evening - usually my worst slot and did not stop until I had finished it which did involve quite a bit of going back and forth to remind myself of details. I will go and see the movie next anyway so I can compare.

I have just bought it, I am a summer holiday reader, not enough time the rest of the year.

 

I am rubbish a choosing a good book to read so this year I decided to buy the last two weeks 'Times Book of the week' on special offer a WHSmith. Have read one of them called The Behaviour of Moths (a novel not a textbook) and An Equal Stillness, both by new writers. I also bought The No1 Ladies Detective Agency which I think was also recommended on here.

 

Now I have the problem of which one to start

I loved this book. One of the best choices since joining the Book Group, IMO. It was one of those "Icantputitdown" reads. I cried buckets at the end. DD enjoyed it too.

 

I'm sad to say that it sounds as if the film, which I was so looking forward to, is a pile of rubbish. I'll probably still check it out for myself though.

I went to see it this aft with my daughter and a friend.

 

It was very poor.

 

I know it is a complex tale and you have to have your wits about you, but it came nowhere near to capturing the intricacy and beauty of the story.

 

Very disappointing. Straight to DVD standard.

The reviews in the paper haven't been great have they? Its a shame really. I must reread this book.
