ali-s
Meet Georgina my birthday present from Andy I have been riding her to work and back for a few weeks now It is so lovely to cycle early in the morning, I have seen so much wildlife and wild flowers which I would have missed had I been in my car. I even enjoy cycling in the rain Poor Georgina is missing a couple of parts already when a stupid man drove me off the road and nearly into a deep, muddy ditch The propstand snapped off and the pump fell into the ditch. The man had plenty of space to get by me as I had stopped and was waiting on a narrow grass verge, he seemed to drive straight for me . I didn't manage to get the registration of his car as I was trying to stop myself falling into the ditch. If I didn't need to take Natalie to swim training every afternoon I would sell my car and use Georgina as my transport. I have even cycled into town and back, I took a longer route home which made my journey about 14 miles Still struggling on the hilly bits though
Ain't Nobody Here
What a lovely looking bike - congratulations . I'm impressed you're cycling so much . (Will it be as easy come November ?) How annoying that idiot running you into a ditch but at least you weren't hurt .
Jules.
Lovely bike I'm hoping to get a newer bike soon. I have a folding IKEA bike, but the wheels are so small that I peddle frantically just to get around the garden

Helly Welly
Georgina is beautiful, a real classic bike. My bike hasn't been named yet. It's a fold up one, like the Ikea one so my legs go like the clappers too

ali-s
Thank you to the person who re sized the picture of Georgina I do feel as though I should be wearing a floaty dress when I am cycling and a straw bonnet instead of my cycle helmet. I have seen some cycle helmets that look like normal hats. You buy the basic helmet and then buy seperate hat like covers to put over the helmet. They are very expensive and Natalie has told me she will disown me if I buy one. She very nearly left home when the tartan box bag arrived in the post I had a tartan box bag on my bike when I was a child, Ella my dolly used to travel in it The bag carries my work uniform, waterproofs, and the occasional box of eggs for a friend at work. The area I live in is mostly flat thank goodness. When I first started cycling to work I had to get off my bike and push it up the hilly bits. Every morning I would see a lycra clad, feet strapped to the pedals on a racing bike cyclist coming down the hill. He would shout morning to me as he flew past. One morning he stopped at the top of the hilly bit and shouted "don't you dare get off" so I didn't and got all the way to the top Now I am geting faster so I meet lycra man further along the road but I still don't get off at the bottom of the hills

ubereglu
Looks great, I need to get back into cycling again-I used my bike about a week ago, before I went on holiday and cycled up the road and then down a country lane-then managed to fall off, after which I went home. Will give it another go this week and find the spare bike lock!
Seagazer
Lovely looking bike My DD bought a lovely old fashioned looking bike in France last year and is planning on taking it back to uni with her in September. When we went to Copenhagen last year it was great seeing everyone out cycling, its so well laid out there with every road having a proper cycle lane and traffic lights just for them. PurpleTree
I'd love a bike like that, when we were in Holland everyone was riding bikes like that. The saddles look so comfy. We borrowed the in-laws bikes while we were there, mountain bikes, and I could barely sit down for a day after using MIL's. It was so hard. She obviously has a different shaped bottom to me cos she used it nearly everyday for the 2 weeks and was fine.
